Best Games Of All Time: #7
Without further ado...

#7 is...
Photobucket

Yes Kingdom Hearts! I guess that clue was kind of easy huh?
Let me start by say that I don't like RPGs. Except this one. I really don't know why I wanted to look into this game but, damn, I'm glad I did.

The interaction with the Disney characters was very seemless and wasn't shoe-horned in. All the stories were interconnected and, in the end, was really compelling. Brace yourself, it's kind of emotional! (I didn't cry! )

Combat was fun, although it was button mashy. Collecting stuff really made this game addictive. I kept saying to myself, "I need that Lucid Gem! I want the Ultima Keyblade!"

With a great story, fun combat, and cool Disney (as well as Final Fantasy) tie-ins, this game has something for all of us. Pick it up, it's a great game.

Oh yeah, this is another game that will kick your ass. Be careful, cutscenes aren't skippable! The challenge made me feel a bigger sense of accomplishment when I beat it.

Whatcha think of this one? As for the next title... hmm... I don't know how I can be too sly about it.

You silly goose! You missed #8!

Greatest Games of All Time: #8
Again, stupid internet.

Number ocho is...
Photobucket

Ah, the memories!
Back in the day, I played the crap out of this one. The old school platforming was so cool. It was colorful, had a pretty good story, was very polished (duh it's Insomniac we're dealing with here), and was just plain fun.
I've put countless hours into Spyro games, but this one, by a landslide, took the most hours. I sometimes just play it to play the hockey minigame!

Alas, my dreams were crushed when I bought the first 2 for the PS2. Something was missing. Yeah. The fun was missing.
But hey, we're not here to talk mess about those, just how good this one was.
If this comes on PSN, I'll definitely grab it and so should you! Knowing you guys, you haven't played it, huh?

Thoughts on this one?

You'd have to be pretty heartless to dislike the next title...

Missed #9? Here it is.

Greatest Game of All Time: #9
Sorry for the delay. Stupid internet.

The game for 9th place goes to...

Photobucket
Times beaten: 4 or 5

Action packed and very story driven: Two things I love in games. The first 2 were great, but the third was the pinnacle.
Combat is difficult but very fun. The vehicles are among the best in any action game. The story, while hilariously funny all along, really makes you roll around in laughter when the big reveal of the series shows up here. It's both funny and a shocker.

This game is a work of art and all the animation is better than stuff I see nowadays. Naughty Dog is awesome for the games they make and this is one of them. Truly beautiful in every way, this game should be played by everyone.

Whatcha think of ol' number 9? Maybe one bad thing is that it didn't have any purple dragons in it...

Missed #10? Here it is!

Greatest Games of All Time: #10
Just to start things off, my top 10 will have one rule. That rule is that this countdown can only have 1 game per series in it.
Let's get started!

#10 is...
DMC3

One of the best action games I have ever played, a 10 spot may seem bad, but it's not.
The combat was incredibly deep and infinitely rewarding. Although this game really didn't need a story, one was brought to the table here and was very compelling. You gotta stop dudes from opening hell! OH NOEZ!

All these things are great, but really stands out, are the cutscenes. They are so incredibly action packed and AWESOME (and way over the top) that they are one of the many things I will remember about this game. They are hard to explain, but you absolutely need to see them.
Oh yeah, by the way, this game will kick your ass into oblivion. With no checkpoints, one death and it's beginning of the level for you. Play it on easy first, trust me.

I'm suprised no one picked up on the hint I dropped at the end of my last blog. That last line, I thought gave it away.

Whatcha think about my #10 pick?
I'll try to jak up the action at least 3 times for my next pick.

Good And Bad Of E3
Hey wassup peoples. E3 is over and that's alright I guess. Sort of underwhelming but that's my fault for making up stupid crap that I wanted there. I kind of wanted to sort the positive and negative things here and see if you agree!

Good

  1. God Of War 3

  2. There was a God Of War 3 Trailer

  3. I saw Kratos in a GOW 3 trailer

  4. Dude, GOW is coming to the damn PS3 and I can't freakin' wait!

  5. Killzone 2 Multiplayer: innovative, pretty, and awesome

  6. Resistance 2: All around awesome, I can't wait

  7. LittleBigPlanet additions: Must have title. The levels looks insanely awesome and difficult. I'm gonna get lost in this game.

  8. Gears Of War 2: The Horde mode looks infinitely awesome and campaign isn't a slouch either. Looks good for you 360 owners!

  9. Video Store Up

  10. MAG looks revolutionary: 256 players, a lot of dudes!

  11. Stuff for my PSP: Resistance & Patapon 2 look AWESOME!

  12. Ratchet Future: Q4B: More Ratchet for $15? I'm in!

  13. inFAMOUS looks incredible: Sucker Punch has done it again! Everything about that game looks astonishing.

  14. Rock Band 2: So easily could have been just a song pack, but it includes so much more

  15. Compatability: GHWT works with RB stuff! Finally, thanks that means I might get both!

  16. PSN lineup looking great: Everyone seems pumped for Fat Princess. Fat Princess FTW?

Got the good outta my system, now let's get to the juicy part, The Bad.
(Note: FFXIII won't be mentioned because that would be in the "Ugly" section but I decided not to post that.)

Bad

  1. Prince Of Persia: Dude, no. They completely changed everything I liked about the first 3. It might change my mind later, but now it's not looking like I'm gonna buy this.

  2. No more PS3 BC: Why are you guys ditching your super sucessful past? It's not deal-breaking, but it's a bit of a disappointment to have to hook up the ol' PS2 again for nostalgia.

  3. No new Halo: I know what your thinking. Yeah I don't really like Halo, but when I heard "Squad with no Master Chief" it sounded kind of cool.

  4. No Tekken 6: Number one most wanted to see game at E3 and nothing. Not even a name drop. Not even a sneeze that sound like Tekken. Nothing. Is this game even coming out?

  5. No Naughty Dog game this year: I wasn't suprised but disappointed. If you look at Naughty Dog's history, they have skipped a year between Crash 1 and Crash 2 and skipped a year between Jak 1 and Jak 2. I really wanted to see a Jak 4.

  6. No "Killzone 2" showing like last year: Remember last year how they showed gameplay of a game you've never really seen this year? That blew me away last year and nothing like that was shown this year.

  7. No price drops: I was thinking: PS3: $350, PSP: $150, PS2: $100. But I guess Sony wasn't thinking the same.

  8. No PS2 on PSN: Another rumor I gave into, but that would be pretty cool to download old PS2 games to the harddrive. An extra could be letting the no BC models play them. Another money pile for Sony to cash into. It'll probably come though.

  9. No game for Team ICO

  10. No GT5 proper

  11. No Kingdom Hearts 3 trailer: I wasn't expecting it, but that's why it would be cool. I'll probably just get mad again. With MS blanking SE's blank (use your imagination ) I wouldn't be suprised at another multiplat. I'd be down with a spin-off on the Wii though.

  12. Nintendo seemingly giving up on the hardcore

That concludes my E3 coverage!
My thoughts were there so take them how you will.
What did you think and what were some good and bad things for you?

Oh yeah, I'll posting my favorite games in a list, theycallmeryan style. That way you can point my good of bad tastes!

I Wish It Would All Stop
I can't hold in my immature, inner fanboy any longer...

Exclusivity crap. Paying people off. Saying it will be on one platform. Going back on your word. Not locking up exclusives.
All these happened and are still happening. Yes, FFXIII did spark this blog, but it's not the first.
I'm gonna roast all 3 involved in these "exclusivity wars." Let's start with Sony.

Sony
Seriously. What the hell? You have to lock these things up! Why not spend a little money here to make WAY more in the future, along with the priceless good PR?
Final Fantasy, believe it or not, is one of the pillars of a PS platform. Yeah I understand PS3 OWNERS ARE STILL GETTING FFXIII, that is good, but multiplat games generally are poorer in quality when compared to exclusives. That is because you have to check this version, make sure the framerate is good on the PS3 version, then you have to see if you have enough disc space on the 360 version and it can delay, and maybe even hurt, the final product.
If you look all of those FF games are very highly rated and have a rabid fanbase that would (catch this Sony) buy a system to play a Final Fantasy game. Weird huh? It helped the PSP with Crisis Core.
The least you can do is get exclusive content on this one or secure another RPG (which you guys are totally lacking) with SE. Speaking of SE...

Square Enix
Is it all you care about is money? Willing to sell loyalty at the drop of a dime? Pathetic. Have some damn dignity. Sony has been so good to you over the years, letting you release top quality games on their platform.
So what did you do? Tell them it's coming exclusively and then stab them in the back by releasing it on both systems. If this game was exclusive, you guys would make piles of money on it. Japan and America are CRAZY about FF. This would selll more than MGS (bigger installed base, arguably bigger fan base). I swear if we lose Kingdom Hearts 3 (which is one of the only RPGs I actually like)... oooh... that would be cutting deep. MS better not pay for that one... Speaking of MS...

Microsoft
Do you guys wipe your butts with money? That's all you guys do is throw it out there. Seriously, did you have to buy Rock Band 2 exclusivity? That tops the chart in "pettiness." Now I have to wait while everyone else plays it and 2 months or so later I finally get to play it. I like how you guys like to please your customers but buying everything gets super old.
Buying RPGs from Square seemed awfully cheap to me. People are still gonna buy PS3s for RPGs, because a 360 is not what anyone thinks of when they think of RPGs. This isn't gonna make you "win" in Japan, sadly, no one cares about the 360 in Japan. Besides FFXIII is exclusive the PS3 in Japan anyway.

Ok, I got that outta my system.
I had to let it out somewhere. I burned all 3, so insulting me won't do anything but try me!
All in all, I thought that the exclusives jumping ship are pretty stupid. It is truly sad how money runs the world.
I'll have a proper E3 blog later, my impressions and whatnot.

*Disclaimer: Although I hate Microsoft as a company, I like the actual system, the 360.
I don't think Sony is doomed, but I believe they lost sight of the customers a little bit. Yeah this jumping ship thing will hurt them a lot, but doomed is overstating it. They need to wake up a bit.

Opinions?
