  TFU Demo impressions

  It's fun but short. Walkin around smackin troopers around with lighting, a lightsaber, force push, and other troopers is fun.

  I played on the sith lord difficulty - the hardest unlocked difficulty - and could have run through the thing in less then 10 minutes if I weren't screwing around with the physics and what not The demo takes place in the TIE fighter factory, and yes - you can grab the TIE fighters off the racks. A little ways further in, you can see some fighters in action, but I never managed to grab them - might just be me though. At the end of the demo you rip a 2legged walker - AT-ST? I can never get it right - in half in one of those GoW style quick time events, so thats a good thing, imo. My only real problem was the camera, and the controls - the latter because I though I was play Psi-ops half the time, the former because I kept thinking R1 was reset camera...

  The game seems aimed at 'fun' for the moment, but that may change once the enemies are a bit more competent then your run of the mill Stormtroopers

  Spore TV and other media

  I honestly didn't think the game had grown this popular this fast - that or Wright's trying to make it popular...

  Anyways, I see some potential for those who play the game to be broadcasted in it, in a way. If Maxis/Wright/whoever use the game players' own creatures - with permission that would likely be granted in an instant - that guarantees at least a few watchers anyway

  The problem would be the premise - I don't see what they might be trying to do with something along the lines of a story for this thing - but that might come out in the future, I dunno. I just don't want to see everything that goes on in the game happening on the screen too - or the media would just be a glorified, overly long and annoying commercial. Watching two tide-pool organisms talk about the weather would be kind of wierd though

  Okay, this one's really throwing me for a loop. How do you make a movie out of a game that has no definite plot or specified characters? Every game of The Sims or Spore revolves (or will revolve) around different people/creatures doing different things in a different location from every other game. Without any sort of defining characters or locations, I don't see how a Spore or Sims movie will be much but a movie about evolution or a family with the game's name tacked onto the title for publicity. But then again, maybe we'll all be surprised.

  I'm kind of back, but not really.

  Well, I'm back for the moment - you can thank(or hate, whatever) the Fallen Earth Alpha invite for that - so I might be around for a little while. Not much happening, except that my senior year is about to start, and 8 hours of my day will be sucked up by sometimes moderately interesting - but usually not - events at high school.

  But even though I'm back, I'm not going to browse around the unions anymore - I get stuck with officerships too often and then people expect me to stick around.... no offense meant on anyones' part, but keeping up with these things takes too much effort and they don't really seem to be used to often - or maybe I just think that because I always come back during lulls in union activity, game info, or some other problem thats out of my/the unions' control.
