A site that a frequent religiously, PS3 Fanboy is a great site for PS3 news not easily found elsewhere. Their site however, is well... Ugly as **** Compared to other fanboy sites within the same network, like say the xbox 360 fanboy's site, it looks like crap. I made a banner for them, not officially (although I will e-mail them my idea, maybe I can inspire them to get their act together).

I can't wait for Assassins Creed comes out, hopefully it will live up to its hype. So I made a theme just for it, enjoy.

Earlier today I posted what I dumbly thought was a Legit Box design for Metal Gear Solid 4. This was before I noticed some things that blatently pointed it out as a fake, which I feel dumb for missing. Here is that post.
Well I decided to open photoshop and give it a shot myself. Here is my rendition:

Came upon this doing a Google search for "MGS4 pics" for one of my online profiles.
Haven't seen it anywhere else. I like it, could be better (although I'm sure this isn't the final one, if its real at all.
Here is where I found it.
What do you think?
*Edits*, I just realized the "Dark Master Design's" under the Title. Still, pretty good looking box art.

...I'm not kidding. Sad.
I love Football, so much I prefer the word Football over Soccer, and I live in the US. I live it; it's in my heart and my soul. Yet I fell asleep watching the Columbus Crew play FC Dallas. Why? I've seen Women's College Football games more intense and exciting than this mockery of the game. Granted, some MLS games are fun to watch, barely.
All of our Football stars went overseas. Clint Dempsey went to Fulham in the English Premier League and Freddy Adu went to Benifica. MLS needs to be more competitive when it comes to fronting the cash to keep our stars. Don't let Josey Altidore slip away, please!!! We no doubt have enough sponsors coming aboard, thanks to Beckham, which I won't get started on that whole debacle. We don't need Rooney, Henry or Ronoldinho (a.k.a. Jar Jar Binks) in our league. We need home grown talent! We need more youth camps, more urban football programs, and better established youth leagues. A.Y.S.O. is a joke; a fascist youth association ran by evil "soccer moms", where teams are stacked beyond belief!
Another thing, the pitches in which MLS is played on, are the worst example of a field. Granted, their getting better, but slowly. The Red Bulls are getting their own stadium, and I hear it's going to be beautiful! MLS can be so much better; someone needs to make it so. That someone needs to go to Europe & South America (or anywhere BUT the US), and do some research on why Football is the sport of the World. After a year or two abroad researching, they need to come back and implement what they learned into the MLS. Our leagues don't need to be like any other league, keep it American, but start developing the drive and the passion for the sport.
I want to see Arsenal come play any MLS club, show how football should be played!

I keep getting into arguments with my friends on the Xbox 360 vs the PS3, this crap's never going to end lol. Good fun I guess. The latest argument was what was best for your money... I did minor research, here it is.
PS3 - 60GB model. - $499.99
Xbox 360 - Elite model - $449.99
Price difference: $50 to the Xbox 360
Main difference between the two is a Hi-definition capable drive. The PS3 has a Blu-Ray drive, the Xbox 360 has... nothing. So lets fix that.
PS3 - 60GB model - $499.99
Xbox 360 - Elite model + HD-DVD Drive - $629.98
Price difference: $140.99 to the PS3
Another difference between these two Next-Generation concoles is integrated Wifi. So lets add that on as well.
PS3 - 60GB model - $499.99
Xbox 360 - Elite model + HD-DVD Drive + Wireless Network Adapter - $729.97
Price difference - $229.98 to the PS3
Another difference is the internal hard-drive. The Xbox Elite has the PS3 beat on all fronts here, it comes with a 120GB HDD to the PS3s 60GB. BUT! This can be fixed by the PS3s easy HDD replacement process. So lets add a Western Digital 120GB drive.
PS3 - 60GB model + WD 120GB drive - $569.98
Xbox 360 Elite model + HD-DVD Drive + Wireless Network Adapter - $729.97
Price difference - $159.99 to the PS3
I could go into the whole online thing as well, adding on the price of Xbox live for a whole year, which would total $49.99, but with the Elite model, you get Xbox Live Silver service FREE, plus 30 days of Gold Service FREE. I'm honestly not sure what that would total in the end. But the PS3's online service is FREE, it may suck compared to the Xbox 360's, but its free, which might be why it sucks lol. The Xbox 360 spanks the PS3 when you compare games out, and the community.
For the Price to make the Xbox 360 level with the PS3 might sway people to get a PS3, in the end its all up to personal taste. A lot of people don't think about what you get with the PS3, like I've said before, its too early to tell, the PS3 is still considered new, so time will tell. In the end, its the gamers that benefit from this!

... And will it ever happen?
The PS3 is leaps and bounds more powerfull than the 360, but it doesn't mean squat unless you DO something with what your given. The PS3 is so advanced, that developers are having a biatch of a time programming on it. 8 FPUs to the 360's 3, if only someone could fully harness that raw power. Maybe in the years to come we will get games what will, just imagine though, the possibilities, the potential!!!

Saw this on Cinematical
I never got into the whole "Halo" franchise, but I have to say I'm a little sadened by this. Video Game to Movie adaptations usually suck, but you'd think that a franchise as big as Halo couldn't possibly screw up. I mean, unless you hand the project to Uwe Boll who should be banned from making movies EVER again. They could have had a serious, epic movie here.
They had Neill Blomkamp, whos worked on projects such as 3000 Miles to Graceland, Smallville & Stargate SG-1 booked to direct it. He even had this to say about it.
"I wanted it to feel like the most brutal, real version of science fiction in a war environment that you've seen in a while."
Come on! A director with that kind of brutal honesty, vision and scope certainly could of made a truely epic Halo movie.
I think now that Legendary Pictures is working with Blizzard to make the World of Warcraft epic, they should take over the Halo movie. You KNOW they could make such a badass Halo movie, it makes 300 look like the Little Rascals with toothpic spears and cardboard shields.

I am a Sony fanboy, so there is no doubt going to be bias in this article. I will try to cut down on it. But this is my blog lol.
Design
I don't have to say much here, its pretty self-explanatory. Comparing the design of the PS3 vs. the X360 is like comparing my Blackberry to a cheap go-phone. Aesthetically speaking, the PS3 wins hands down. What makes this thing so damn sexy is how simple it is. Hidden drive bay, glossy black finish (even though the fingerprints make it look as if Sherlock Holmes was looking for clues on it) and the absence of any buttons, perfect! I really feel like the PS3, just by looking at it, is a Next-Generation console.
Games
Now before you spaz out and go "but the X360 out numberes the PS3 in terms of games like 10-1!11!!", hear me out. I admit that the number of PS3 games out is somewhat unimpressive. What Sony lacks in the amount of games on its console, they make up with ones that will be out soon. You're right, that doesn't help us now, but like I stated earlier, I'm a fanboy, and I can wait. Metal Gear Solid 4 (plus however many more Kojima decides to grace us with), Metal Gear Solid online, Little Big Planet, Home, DiRT (yes I know its also on the X360, but it will look better and play better on my beloved console), LocoRoco Cocorrecho, Devil May Cry 4, Final Fantasy! I know I left some good ones out, but you get my point.
Usability
This right here is what sealed the deal for me with the PS3. Usibility, I loaded up Yellowdog Linux onto my PS3 and instantly had cell-powered linux machine. I used it for work, internet, e-mail, school etc etc. If the general public were just educated a little better on the uses of this powerful machine, the X360 would be crying. So when I had linux on my PS3, I also had a sweet Home Theater PC at my disposal.
Media. Why would ANYONE want to have to buy an extra $180 peripheral/drive to watch hi-definition media on a "next-generation" console? It blows my fraking mind.
Upgrading. Can you even upgrade the X360 hard-drive, I never found out. Can you upgrade the PS3 hard-drive? Hell yes you can, and its SO simple.
- Take out old drive
- Replace with new, larger, higher RPM drive
- Let the PS3 format it for you.
Bam, your done! You can even buy a mod. You can also buy External HDDs to use as your main HDD. Team Xecuter even released a mod that allows you to use regular PC HDDs externally, and then switch freely between the two.
I will be the first to admin that the X360 has some things on the PS3, such as an online community and how they handle it. I believe Sony has realized that, and it won't be long until the gap is closed.

The new Jungle Book -- 40th Anniversary Platinum Edition just came out, Whoop-de-freakin' do! Holy crap, the original was awesome, I watched it last week with my nephew lol. Are studios becoming SO desperate they need to re-release the came material over and over again. I'm still waiting for my damn Digitally Remastered - Gold - F**king Diamond Edition of Tron to come out! So they re-colored the cells of the animation, awesome. So they reduced some of the noise in the original soundtrack, great. Re-release it once, and let it go! I can understand them re-releasing it on a different format, but thats different.

While I site here and munch on my Flake bar (which I think I'm the only person in the US who knows about these flaky bars of chocolate goodness), I am going to rant a little bit, so enjoy
Recently I did a mini-review for Fifa 2008 on my blog (http://cvaughn.wordpress.com/2007/09/24/fifa-2008-demo-on-xbox-360/) and something came to mind while waiting for the game to load -- Online Game Lobbies, well, SUCK! Why can't online gaming lobbies be fun, more than just a chat section with the list of your teammates about to enter the pending frag-fest? We're in the next-gen era now, right? Below are a couple examples of how I think in game, mini-game lobbies would be a great addition.
Fifa 2008 - While I wait for the online match to start, load up a Virtual Pitch (field for the Americans), and let the players in the lobby, have a quick soccer mini-game. Or just let them do what ever they want on the empty pitch. In the Demo you can choose to mess with the ball, doing tricks and shooting on goal in an empty pitch, let this be the online lobby!
Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 - The Game lobby is just a bunch of names, with the teams, where you choose if your ready or not, how fun!!! Seriously, this is boring as **** Why can't the game lobby be a firing range? Something innovative, like I said, we are in the NEXT GENERATION ERA, which should just mean awesome graphics, this should also mean Next-Gen Gameplay!
Any sports game - Take the Tiger Woods Golfing Sims, the game lobby could be a driving range, where you could smack the tiny while ball with your friends, seeing who can hit it the furthest. Kind of like a mini-game while you wait for the match. Or the mini-game could be to wack the guy picking up the golf-balls with the cart, first one to him him, wins something.
So the lobbies don't even have to be mini-games, they can be anything, as long as they are interactive, and don't make the player want to kill themselves from boredom. Developers need to realize that "Next-Gen" isn't just graphics!
