MGS4 part 3
I want to talk about gameplay this time. I enjoy the gameplay. Stealth is a method of gameplay that has interested me in the past. There's no other game that I know of that intends for you to play the entire game without being seen by the enemy. I've played mgs4 through with no alerts. Playing like this makes for some really thrilling moments, but it also made for some really dull ones. There's not enough of the really thrilling moments for me. I like the emblems, they encourage to play the game over several times with different play-styles, but I think only very few of them have decent rewards. Also, i now have an idea of how much the gameplay has changed and improved, because i have played MGS3, I rented it 2 days ago. Overall I've played games more fun than this, but I'm not condemning the gameplay as bad, just less interesting than some games that some fans have claimed 'cannot stand up to MGS4.'
Hold on, final fantasy XIII is no longer PS3 exclusive!
Like Devil May Cry 4, another game for which i bought a ps3 is being shared by the xbox360. I'm speechless.
Everyone help me out :)
I don't normally get many responses to my blogs, but I'm doing this anyway. I have a project going on at the moment and at this stage of it I'm gathering information about people's common daily routines. Any GS user who wants to help me out will be greatly appreciated. All I need to know is what time the day usually starts and ends for you, and any major events that occur commonly in your day and what times those usually are. You're welcome to comment or PM your info if you prefer. Anything given to me will only be used to assist with this project of mine. If the project starts to take shape I'll explain it in more detail. As you know, an artist keeps his work to himself until he's ready to share it. Please respond, I'll hold all who do in high regard. And one more thing, I've promised to write more about MGS4, i should do that soon huh? Explanation in the next blog, which i'm pretty sure will be the long awaited MGS4 part 3 (part 3? I don't remember) which i'll try to do tomorrow.
concerning Fallout 3
OK I was just informed that Fallout 3 was refused classification and banned for sale in Australia. It was one title in particular that I was looking forward to because we don't have many RPGs for the PS3. If there's any besides Oblivion then I haven't heard of them. It's Fallout 3's drug-related content that was the supposed reason for the ban. I really don't have any prior knowledge of the Fallout series but I picked up from some angry fans that the drugs are an important part of Fallout, perhaps too much for the game to be edited and resubmitted to the OFLC. Would I go through the trouble of importing the game? I don't know. The last time I tried buying something from overseas it didn't go very well, I'll just leave it at that. So yeah, Fallout 3 banned, lots of Aussies angry (I'm not angry by the way, my opinion of the OFLC has just been lowered even further than it was after all that GTA 4 business) More to come on MGS4 soon.
Thoughts on MGS4 (Part 2)
The story, I get it, it took me a few playthroughs and a heap of 'extra reading' to get my head around it, but I understand. Final Fantasy VII had the same problem, a great story but difficult to make sense of. Moving on to something I really liked, and that is the characters. Nearly every major character is given a backstory, and while these backstories contribute to making some scenes painfully long, they also made me care a lot about what would happen to the characters in the end. Some of them really tested my patience at the same time, particularly Snake's grumpy old bastard performance, and I got so sick of hearing Otacon sob the word Naomi. Another thing I can't forget is the beautiful graphics. The guy who sold me the game, had one thing to say - best graphics ever. Simply amazing. More to come in the next blog.
Thoughts on MGS4 (Part 1)
I played through Metal Gear Solid 4 twice, so now I feel that I need to express my thoughts on this game. The first thing I want to say is that I am not a fan of MGS, and the only reason I played this game is because all of you had such nice things to say about it. One thing that I'm now in agreement on is that the story is as important as the gameplay in making the game a success. Unfortunately this doesn't do much for me because the story is told with the assumption that you already know everything about the series so far. And while I'm sitting trying to make sense of what is going on in the main plot of 4 (ie what the hell Liquid is actually doing and why it matters) but there's also all these references to past games that get worked into the story. I only know about this because I downloaded the MGS4 database to try to make sense of what the hell is going on. This game was made for fans to enjoy and for non-fans to get frustrated over. Damn I gotta go now but next blog I'll finish this with what I like.
