My Friends

I can assure you I won't be picking it up.

I will be interested to see if people's enthusiasm for the game will equal sales now that they've seen the price set in stone.

Honestly? I guess it will be higher. This game had been rumored to be $199 for quite some time, and people still wanted it. That is just a crazy high price point though for any one person. You could get a psp, or a ds with a game for that. Have these music games really grown out of their nitche enough to be able to support a product like this?

My friends and I are gonna go in on it to buy it. That is a lot for one person to buy though.

I would indeed rather have a PSP. These music games are pretty fun, but I would imagine there's a specific group of people this is going to appeal to. First is the hardcore group that would have bought it at any price. One, like Chikinware, is a group of people who are going to pitch in (which always brings the question 'who gets to keep it?'). Then there's the people with disposable income who won't mind buying the whole thing for themselves because they know people will come play it. I don't play games with most of my friends, so it would get very little use at my place. It's a lot of money for one game and continued use will require more money for downloaded song-packs and new discs.

I don't mind so much about keeping it (I like to keep games that are more than just toys but for a game like Rock Band I don't mind only having the playing right).
