Best Nirvana album?

Nirvana is one of my favorite bands, so which album do you feel is their best?

I used to think Nevermind was their best, but In Utero is actually better (Despite Nevermind always being one of the best albums ever made). The music and creativity is better, and sounded natural and unpolished. Some of my favorites include "Scentless Apprentice" "Milk It" "Heart Shaped Box" and "All Apologies." It's the most hardcore and agressive album Nirvana's ever made, and certainly their best in my opinion.

I think the fact that In Utero is more aggressive is what makes it worse than Nevermind. One of the main reasons why Nevermind is such a lasting and significant album is because both the band's songwriting and Butch Vig's production lent itself to having both pop appeal and grunginess. The coupling of mass appeal and true artistry, poppyness and all-out aggression is what makes Nevermind such a striking record.

My brother would agree with you. He rates In Utero as one of the greatest albums ever made, regardless of genre. I'm a bit more of a Nevermind person, mostly for Lithium.
