My top 20 overall movies: #20 and #19

A while ago, Doug Walker, the same guy responsible for The Nostalgia Critic, mentioned his top 20 movies. I myself have so many favorites, I really wanted to do a top 20. Yes, animated films are included, but I also havea fair share of live action films. What, you thought this was all for animated movies? I don't think so.So here's my top 20.

    Saw

Uh-huh. I'm starting with a gorefest here. This film had a lot of controversy. No, not the controversy where soccer moms are whining to theater managers for showing movies like this. I'm talking about people leaving the theater becausepeople threw up while the film was still playing. This movie's got a pair if it is able to do that. That's basically the reason why I like this movie. Good acting, weird story, and gory as hell. The movie was all about a serial killer who kidnaps people and puts them in uniquedangerous situations, like putting someone in a chair with a reverse bear trap stuck to their head, and the key is hidden inthe stomach of a"dead body" (and I use that term loosely)they see before them. But the film is mainly about two guys trying to escape one of Jigsaw's traps, where one has to find the key to his shackle, and the other is supposed to kill his partner with a revolver, making it a "trial and error" scenario. You can say anything you want about this movie, whether you love it or hate it, I like this movie, and it should be on this list.

    Cats Don't Dance

Easily one of the best underrated musicals out there, considering the fact that this was directed by the same guy who later directed The Emperor's New Groove. The film was all about an orange tabby named Danny trying to make it big in Hollywood, but it seems that Hollywood only wants talentedhuman beings to star in the movies, and not talented animals. Enter the biggest brat in movie history, Darla Dimple, who later reveals her true feelings for animals. That's right, she despises them. Plus, everyone on the set, including the director, treats her like a goddess, and if they don't obey her, she will call out for her giant Arnold Schwartzenegger-like butler to fix the problem for her. All I can say is "What a b****" while I'm watching this movie. I've said a couple things about this movie already, like how it has great songs by Randy Newman (the same guy responsible for "You Got a Friend in Me" from Toy Story), and how it also has great voice work from Star Trek: Enterprise's Scott Bakula, Jasmine Guy, and singer Natalie Cole. What I didn't mention was that this is the only movie where you can hear Scott Bakula sing. I also like the film parodies in this movie, like how it references Gone With the Wind a couple times in the beginning of the movie. Plus, at the very end of the movie, you'll see parody movie posters of different Warner Bros. films such as Twister,Beetle Juice, The Witches of Eastwick (the only R-rated movie reference), and Free Willy. So, overall, I like this movie for what it is, and it deserves to be on the list.

    #18 and #17 is tomorrow.

The best day of my life

I came back from Video Games Live today, and my GOD, was it a blast. It was like a rock concert, only with video game music performed by a symphony orchestra. This was without a doubt, the best day of my life.

    Here's the best part...

    My officially signed PSP

I got my PSP officially signed by the creators of Video Games Live, Tommy Tallerico, and Jack Wall. Both of these gentlemen are also veteran video game composers for games like Earthworm Jim, Mass Effect, Pac-Man World, and Splinter Cell. Now THAT is cool.

I'm glad that I got to go to VGL. When I found out they were coming to Portland, OR, I knew that I had to be there to experience the musical songs and themes to many different video games. My overall favorite part was the Kingdom Hearts segment, because instead of video game footage, they used different clips from various Disney movies and shorts, and it brought back pure nostalgia.

Overall, I had one hell of a blast at Video Games Live, and today turned out to be the best day of my entire life.

    Teh Lulz

    The Lulz

    Do it for them.

Oh yeah, and two days until Video Games Live. WOOT!

So I'll leave you with my little tribute to one of my favorite TV shows.

    My tribute to MST3K

Note that I did not do the screenshot from The Secret of NIMH 2. I did the seats and my character Steven Fox watching the movie and flipping it off. The reason why I chose to bash this movie again was that I despise it so damn much (you know that), that Ijust had to make a tribute to Mystery Science Theater 3000 with it,because MST3Kkept the tradition of the characters sitting in a theater watching horrible movies. Oh MGM, how you've disappointed me.
