My thoughts on an upcoming movie...

It's December. In the movie industry, Disney hasn't released a single movie with traditional hand-drawnanimation until this month.

For those who haven't been up to date, or just don't watch any flippin' television, The Princess and the Frog comes out in 7 days, though I am questioning myself. Why? Because recently, Disney has been releasing mountain-loads of crap this year, though there are some exceptions to that. Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days for the Nintendo DS for example. BUT, the bad stuff overpowers the good stuff...High School Musical 3 for example, which I know is a complete pile of dung. Instead of me drolling on about their recent positives and garbage, I'll get to the question:

HOW WILL THIS MOVIE TURN OUT AFTER IT IS RELEASED?

The answer is that I have no clue. The same guys that directed Aladdin and The Little Mermaid are back in the director's seats, so that should be a good thing, as both Aladdin and The Little Mermaid are two of Disney's best motion pictures to date. Plus, seeing the footage from recent TV spots and viewing the movie trailers on YouTube, the movie looks really good, and could be one of the best looking animated movies this year. I say one of the best, because I think Fantastic Mr. Fox has some of the best visuals I've seen out of any movie this year. Oh yeah, and did I mention that both Disney and 20th Century Fox are rivals when it comes to animated films?

Anyway, back to the movie at hand, I have no clue how this movie is going to turn out. I do know that the movie had a bit of controversy while in the making. Originally, instead of Princess Tiana, her name was Princess Maddie, and she was originally a chambermaid (you know, like Cinderella). HOWEVER, people complained that it was too racist. Keep in mind that the movie takes place during the Jazz era in New Orleans, Louisiana. That alligator with the trumpet (which is coincidentally named Louie) should prove that. In my opinion, I don't think it should've been changed, because that was historically correct at the time. But the movie was aimed for a younger audience, so I won't hold too much grudges there. In the movie, instead of a chambermaid, her occupation isa waitress. Here's the thing. According to a YouTube user named Lillylivers (she has good rants btw), when this film is released, she claims that people are going to complain that it's still too racist. It could be some nitpicking idiot from out of nowhere, or someone from the NAACP. She placed her bet for two weeks. I placed mine for 1.

All I can say is, since that the movie looks really good, I'll hope for the best. If it gets good reviews from critics, as well as other people, I may consider getting the DVD a few months after the theatrical release. That is a big "IF". Now already, Disney's selling merchandise promoting the movie as well as...

Image 1A video game for the Nintendo Wii, PC, and Nintendo DS (or DSi, whichever you prefer).Overall, let's hope for the best. If the movie turns out to suck, I will lose all my faith in Disney. I know that sounds harsh, but giving all the bad crap Disney has recently released, it kinda sounds well deserved.

    I guess I was right...

    LocoRoco Midnight Carnival

This game is balls-to-the-wall hard. But it's also fun, nonetheless. So far, I made outstanding progress, and I'm now at the point where it's gonna startkicking my ass. It is that unforgiving. However, that doesn't mean this game is bad. Far from it, in my opinion. Sure, it's short, but it has replay value, good graphics, the "Boing" mechanic works great, and the soundtrack, as I've expected, is extremely catchy. However, with the BuiBuis (bad guys) singing in the background, it sounds like it's sung by the devil's version of theChipmunks.

BUT, if youattempt play this game, and you haven't played the previous games, or haven't mastered the PSP's controls, then in the words of the host of the arcade game "Smash TV"...

    "Good luck. You'll need it."

So now, I'm going to torture myself some more. Peace.

Midnight Carnival...oh my, am I in for something...

    LocoRoco Midnight Carnival

So if you haven't noticed, I got another game for my PSP off the PlayStation Store, and it's the latest installment in the cute-looking LocoRoco franchise, only this one is darker and according to critics, a hell of a lot more difficult. I played a level, just to find out what I'm gonna be going through. The "Boing!" mechanic in the game is gonna be useful, but I think I'm in for one hell of a challenge. I saw gameplay footage of this game on YouTube, and the game definitely looks like a gauntlet from hell. Obstacles galore in pretty much each stage, so don't let the kid-friendly cuteness fool you. All in all, I think this is going to be balls-to-the-wall hard, but you know what I say?

    BRING IT ON MUTHA#&$?*%!!!

    PEACE OUT! MUAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
