Harry Potter Flies to Another Release Date

Just the other day, Harry Potter fans around the world were shocked to hear that Warner Bros. decided to change the date of the 6th Harry Potter movie, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Pince, from its previously scheduled release in theaters on November 21, 2008 to its new due date, July 17, 2009. (More on the change of date can be read here.)

When I first heard about the change, I was shocked, disappointed, and mad. But I wasn't like most of the fandom - sending angry howlers to the people in charge of the Warner Bros. company and demanding to change it back to the original schedule. After letting the news soak for a few days, and ignoring WB's excuses, etc., I've come to a decision that it is for the best.

This whole year, hardly any Harry Potter news has come about. WB occassionally released glimpses of the 6th film through snapshots, but it was rare. Other big films this year seemed to overshadow the mania behind Harry Potter 6 and, at one point, it seemed like Harry Potter 6 did take a backseat to let other films shine for 2008. And just recently, on July 29, 2008, WB finally released the first teaser trailer for the new film - kind of behind schedule for a 11.21.08 film, don't you think? Therefore, that is why I think, for the most part, it is best that the film wait until next July, that way there is a lot of advertisement for the film (like there was for the 5th film). The movie is said to be another great installment to the series, but the company, WB, needed a big film for next year (the recent writer's strike has WB in a predicament for next year), ergo the reason for the change of date. While the change is disappointing news, 2008 just wasn't meant to be the year for Harry Potter 6.

On the bright side of things, once the 6th film is out, at least the wait for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows pt. 1 won't be a long wait (scheduled for a 2010 release)...and then when 2010 comes, it won't be a long wait for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows pt. 2 (scheduled for a 2011 release). And I think us fans need to calm down, because 2008 isn't Harry-less. The US publisher for the Harry Potter series, Scholastic is releasing a special edition of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone on September 30, 2008, and they're even releasing J.K. Rowling's Tales of Beedle the Bard on December 4, 2008. So, at least the void of no new Harry Potter film can be filled with these two upcoming Harry Potter related books that fans can dive into and savor until the 6th movie is released.

    E.S. Posthumus CD

Picture of New E.S. Posthumus CD The other day I bought E.S. Posthumus' second CD titled "Cartographer." I really enjoy the new CD. It contains two discs, one featuring vocals by Luna Sans, and the other with remixes of the songs from the first disc. It's still not as grand as the first CD by E.S. Posthumus (titled "Unearthed"), but it's a very good follow-up.

You may know E.S. Posthumus from a few movie trailers, and especially the theme song to the TV show Cold Case. You can listen to the first CD for free, and hear a few snippets of the second CD, on their web site: http://www.esposthumus.com/.

    The Missing Pieces

    The Missing Pieces

The missing pieces leave a vacancy in my wound. Heartache drains all the energy I need. Doubt screams into my ear, sounding like a thousand trumpets blaring off at once. Mellow speeches feel numb. Nothing can seem to replace the missing pieces.

My body hungers for the missing pieces. I feel deprived. Searching for the missing pieces, something more than what it may seem. Silence overflows my heart. My mind has fallen apart. I have forgotten my hope.
