  I Got A Video Game Itch

  I got a video game itch. But there are less good games at stores to chose from. So I settle for cheap nostalgic titles sold on-line. Somebody help me. What happened to all the cool sports titles of the mid to late 90s? What's up with the monopolization? And how come RPG/Fantasy/Shooter fans get all the love and sports gamers just get an annual token patch upgrade? I'm still into baseball even though roids rule MLB. I'd get The Bigs. But 2K made it too arcady on purpose so they can set up the gamer junkie consumer for a more complete pro version next year. I'll wait until you can trade players, GM a franchise and play a full 9 innings.

  To add the 2nd half of this rant, I wish there were a such thing as a monster computer system that included all the stable oldie operating systems in one so that gaming collections weren't rendered obsolete by MS inventing the OS wheel every 5 years. There are old school games with a superior GUI and AI that blow away the 3D virtual reality generation. Today you gotta have a mega entertainment system to get the full effect of the newer games. Can't rely on CRTs for consoles anymore. PC gamers mod retro TVs as makeshift monitors. I'll be getting an LCD by the end of the year. And I don't think I'll come up for air. That's all for now.
