Here's a link to my Kataang Week II contributions so far!
http://www.fanfiction.net/s/4916065/1/Kataang_Week_II_QuintessenceHey fellow Avatar fans, and especially Kataangians out there! Sorry I'm a bit late but Kataang Week is back! Because of the popularity from the previous Kataang Week, they've made a new one!
The prompts for this week are:
Panda Lily (Sunday, 3/8 )
Blush (Monday, 3/9)
Strengths/Weaknesses (Tuesday, 3/10)
Tradition (Wednesday, 3/11)
Comfort (Thursday, 3/12)
Love of Life (Friday, 3/13)
In My Arms (Saturday, 3/14)For those who are already participating (myself included in the fanfiction department), have fun with it! It's such a blast!
For those of you who are unfamiliar with these events, I'll try to explain. Basically, everyday for one week a category is made for each day. For example, if you were to participate, the day with the prompt for Panda Lily would include you contributing to either making AMVs, fanfiction, signatures, icons, art, or anything else pertaining to the ship of Kataang, somehow creatively including the prompt for that day. It's a lot of fun, and I hope that those of you who still want to join in on the activity decide to! It's not too late! There's a lot of late bloomers out there!

So if any of you are interested please come to his youtube channel!

Hurry up and vote!
This one is going to be a challenge to win because of the ending of the show and the slow crumbling of the fandom, but if there;s wnything we Avatatards do know, it's how to rouse a voting session. I know you're out there still! VOTE!

In honor of the one year anniversary of "The Awakening," yesterday I finally posted my long awaited story called, "The Color of Friendship".
Septermber 21, 2007 was the premiere of the first episode in Avatar's final season in the United States. Throughout the series I have noticed a magnificent amount of true friendship. In this one year anniversary, I'd like to honor this story with my tribute to friendship...
The Color of Friendship
"They say that true friends last a lifetime, their colors so animated and self assuring to any who wander in the vital path that each fleeting foot takes on the sand." A few hours after the war, they realize what true friendship really is. Mild Kataang.Rated K+

School is keeping me extra busy, as you might be able to see. When I was still not in high school I had so much more time than this. But, alas, here I am awaiting for yet another day of schooling.
I never thought that I could ever be this happy again. No, I'm serious. I'm SPAZZING OUT for tomorrow! Ever since Avatar ended, let me tell you, my life changed. Drastically. My summer started out with me leaving basically everything I had known for a whole new existence in a new place, a new life. My friends and I separated, and I left the school I attended for ten years! Can you believe that?
And then my grandpa (lolo) gets sick on a respirator. My mom and I had to leave China early to go to the Philippines to see him. He's blind. But, happily, he just barely survived.
Then, two weeks after we came back, Avatar ended. It was like I left my entire life behind in the dust, and when high school finally began and I became a nervous freshman, brand new twists and turns erupted from what seemed out of nowhere! I was scared, unsure, and most definitely shy. It was like I was in a trance for the most part, like I could infinitesmally believe my surroundings. I never thought something from my old life would return. For now, I'm a whole new person.
My life is coming back to me now. I'm back and trying to mend things back to the way they used to be because the change impacted me so hard. There are other deeply personal events occuring too that have me hanging on a string that I'd rather not post, but you know the jist of it.
My old life is returning, bit by bit and it's making me come out of the trance gradually. Avatar is coming back. I see my old friends at all these Confirmation meetings again, and my lolo survived. Nothing will ever be the same though, and I'm aware of that, but it's the things that mean the most to you that shape your life and when they suddenly disappear it's like you never existed. Sometimes change can be too overwheming, and just adding to the pressure with personal happenings only make you sink into a translucent dispair.

Hurricane Ike has now risen to a catagory four. Now this is bad.
For those of you that are not aware of hurricane catagories, let me tell you just how bad they are capable of becomeing...
Catagory One
Winds 74-95 mph/Storm surge generally 4-5 ft above normal.Catagory Two
Winds 96-110 mph/Storm surge generally 6-8 feet above normal.
Catagory Three
Winds 111-130 mph/Storm surge generally 9-12 ft above normal.Catagory Four (IKE)
Winds 131-155 mph/Storm surge generally 13-18 ft above normal.Catagory Five
Winds greater than 155 mph/Storm surge generally greater than 18 ft above normal. So basically, I've only actually been in catagories one through three. I mean, if three was bad, and five is the worst, what am I supposed to do? Sometimes these things can knock down buildings and rip parts of them off. I've seen it in just a three! And don't forget about all that water that usually comes with these, and even tornados. It's pretty freaky to think about. But hey, I like the possibility of not having school, but if this thing hits us, I want it to degrade to a three or two. (But guess what? Where I live, it looks like we might be next.)

"They say that true friends last a lifetime, their colors so animated and self assuring to any who wander in the vital path that each fleeting foot takes on the sand.
But only those who shift the grains away can discover those beautiful hollow shells, finding that the vacancy of the simple, ordinary objects could be filled with trust and loyalty; the companionship willingly placed for another."
From the author than gave you "Innocence" and numerous other Kataaang and Avatar-related sotries...
Comes a story about the incredible friendship of six heros.

I didn't have school today either. I wasn't able to exactly update because my computer was out of reach for a few hours.
Well, the storm left us for the ocean, reered back and got worse, then hit us again. Now it's raining buckets outside. I'm just lucky that I don't live in one of the cities or towns with the severe flooding. Three feet! Can you believe that? And it's only been a day or so since it came back to central. It's been raining non-stop since Tuesday, but not as bad as it is now. It's insaity.
When I went to school yesterday (I'm still barely getting used to the new environment.) I had an umbrella with me so I could go back and forth to class. I am just going to warn you for my incoming sarcastic comment: Isn't it great to have a high school with hallways that are mostly outdoors?
At least it wasn't thundering yesterday. Now the rain comes with it. Crud. It just got worse. Alright then. It just got really loud.
Do you know what I just found out? Yes. There are two more storms forming out there in the ocean. I'm happy that it gets me out of school though. I just hope it doesn't destroy homes. I think I've been through my fair share of hurricanes, tropical storms, and tornado warnings. Luckily, I've never had any severe damage in the really bad ones, nor have I expirienced a real tornado. (That's a good thing people!) I mean, sure, we lost a tile or two, hear howling noises at night, lose electricity sometimes, or maybe even hear the trees crash down outside. But it's all good.

This is something I put together because Daf was asking how it looked like. Oh and I have no school tomorrow! There's a hurricane coming in! YAY!(?)

Those are my shoes and I wear crew socks. And I know they're ugly. Bear with me! Pretty self explanatory. I'll find a way to put up the rest of the uniform when I get a decent camera with me. And yes. Sadly I'll have to blur the logo. (I don't want any stalkers, sorry.)
But just for your satisfaction (hopefully), so far, I'll let you guys have a look at my school mascot: HORNETS. After being a Lion for 10 years...that's pretty lame.
Yes. That's the official hornet logo. And yes we do have a school logo, but I will not be posting that. (I hope you understand. This is the internet.)

Well, I'm freaked out. It's not even funny. I have to wake up at 6AM in the morning because tardy is at 7:40. There's only seven minutes between each class!
I'm so scared and extremely stressed out. But apparently I'm not the only one. That makes me feel a little bit better, I guess.
Not all of my uniform arrived yet so I only have one shirt. That means I'll have to wash it everyday until they come. Splendid. Just great. And of course I have to wear really ugly Dr. Martin shoes. Oh the joy. Oh yea...and I'm so short that my shirt doesn't even fit me properly! IT'S HUGE. And you know what's sad? It's a youth large. -_-
Well, I really have to go to sleep now.

WARNING: WHAT YOU ARE ABOUT TO READ CONTAINS THE MUMMY 3 SPOILERS.
I first heard about the Mummy 3 when we went to China. Our tour guide said it was filmed there so I really wanted to watch it.
Today I watched The Mummy 3. It was pretty awesome, but not as good as I thought it could be.
Let's see. The graphics weren't so hot, they could do a lot better. I mean, the story had a lot of potential. It was incredibly creative but some parts just didn't, I don't know, flow? I mean, the whole Yeti thing came from out of the blue a little, and there were scenes where they could've explained things better. There were other scenes that could've been cut out too; especially that scene when the son and the witch's daughter were arguing about how they had "nothing in common". I raised an eyebrow at that one. Also, the acting was great, but there were some actors out there that were a bit off. And the beginning was a little dragged too. The part where they go to the that Shang-Ri-La temple thing could've been better too. I mean, why couldn't they just think of cutting the top of the structure off instead of attempting to blow the thing to pieces and possibly cause an avalanche?
But it did have some pretty epic scenes. Like that part where the dad (I forgot all their names!) jumps in front of his son when a sword is going at his back and the dad gets the hit instead. And also that emotional part where the son and dad hug each other. The set designs were wonderfully done and most of the fight scenes were well planned. And of course, the ending line was HILARIOUS. "Soon after mummies were found in Peru."
Hilarious! But over all, the story was pretty darn sweet, but they should've fine tuned it more. Now how the heck does Avatar fit into all of this?
Well, the dragon emperor learned how to control the five elements. Yes, five, not four. The five elements are Water, Earth, Fire, Metal (but the literal translation is "gold"), and Wood. In Kung Fu Tai Chi there are five elements too. But the point is, he fire, water, and earthbended. It made me freak out.
Heck, I freak out a lot when I get remeinded of Avatar. You should've seen me in China left and right! And Of course, like I said, this obsession never ceases. And it made me freak out even more when I heard a boy sitting behind me yell out, "Firebend!" I think I yelled it out too!
Also, when they went to the actual place of Shang-Ri-La, there was this special water fountain. Sound familiar? Spirit Oasis at the North Pole. They went there to use the water to basically bring back the father because he was dying. Sound familiar again? The water was magic healing water. I think I've said enough.

Well...the colors aren't as vibrant as the real thing. The scanner was horrible too. As you can see, there are many random spots on the picture that are blurry. ignore that and this whole thing. In fact, pretend you didn't even see this.

So if you've noticed that I haven't been online as much...that's why. (Although most of you probably didn't notice. XD)
IT WAS STOLEN.
It's not like you could just lose a laptop, am I right? It's HUGE. GIGANTIC. A whole bunch of my files were on there!
This really sucks.
I also have a request. There's this one picture that I had saved on there that I really, really liked. It was a snapshot of the nick.com background during the week of Sozin's Comet. If anyone has a copy, can I please have one? I really would appreciate it.
Also, I finished my watercolor project. (Just as a shout out to Daf.)
All I need to do is scan it...if I can find a scanner. -_-

Wow. This is unbelieveable! I can't believe that out of all people, I was chosen as a Disciple?
I didn't even think people really knew me on the fourms! Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think I'm exactly as famous as certain users. But it makes me feel all tingly inside just to think that you guys think that I have some thoughtful posting. So thank you for that!
Thanks to everyone who voted for me!
CONGRADULATIONS TO SPEECHLESS8582 AND DEEDUCK FOR ALSO GAINING THE TITLE OF DISCIPLE!
I'm still gawking at the fact that I recieved this...

Okay, WOW. I'm still obsessed with Avatar.
My obsession is still as strong as ever. Does anyone still feel the same way? I mean, my collection of Avatar hasn't grown so much in a week! I've bought the Air, Earth, and Sozin's Comet books, and I even bought a DVD!
All that I mostly think of 24/7 is AVATAR. Is this unhealthy? Is there something wrong with me?!
On another note:
I am currently admiring these watercolor pencils I discovered. Yes. WATERCOLOR PENCILS. I'm going to expirement with them, and hopefully, create a decent picture of Toph and her parents for Dafoose to write a haiku on. It looks fun! I'm excited!
Also, listen to this awesome song I just discovered on the tube!

So, I entered and did not make it. But the good thing is, I was prepared. I knew that there are way better artists out there. At least I know it was worth it though. Eleven hours of coloring and drawing straight wouldn't be if it weren't for something I was completely and utterly dedicated to.
Here's a link to the winners:

So, as some of you may know, I write Avatar fanfics. Please ignore all my other stories, because they are extremely crappy and I probably will never do multi-chapter stories again because I never finish them.

So, even though it may not be my place to say this, I would like to tell you guys about my latest fanfiction on Avatar! (I haven't written in months so my writing may be a bit off.)
Here's the summary:
Innocence
This takes place in Katara's point of view. "People always look to the world for a new meaning, but the world would have no meaning if it weren't for the people." Takes place during and after Sozin's Comet. KataraxAang or Kataang.Yes, so, if you are interested go and read. If you are a fan like me who is trying to not let go of Avatar: The Last Airbender, I recommend reading fanfics. They help, especially when we are waiting for the news on Friday.
Some of you may recognize some of the quotes I've added in from my previous blogs.

Now we wait for the San Diego Comic Con. I guess we were never really ready, were we?

THE END
What a precise way to conclude the most amazing series of a lifetime. Millions of admirers grew to adore its imagination. People of all nations, races, and thinking are prone to its victory, placed within a relm of beauty that engulfs the mind with pure wonder.
In a way of an Avatard, this is the ending. A bittersweet culmination of thousands. As I write this to you, I am crying, but I am also confused. Right now, I have tears of joy and sadness overflowing in my eyes. Right at the end, as I saw Aang in his elegant Air Nomad clothes, I knew that this was it. People always imagned the end, with Aang's new clothing, or Katara's, whose shipping would win in the end, and finally, how Aang would defeat the Fire Lord.
Right now I am deeply wishing that I could take it all back; the times where the speculations always arose, bringing questions and doubted answers. Avatar will always bring me wonderful memories, and I really wish I could relive them. I miss this show already, and I have been dreading the day when the status of the show would finally say, "Ended". But I guess here we go; here comes a life that feels empty, a whole new beginning, a seemingly different world.
Everything is going to be different after today, isn't it?
Yes, it is.I can't stop crying, and I honestly don't want to stop. This only shows how much dedication I have put into Avatar. I will never forget. Never.
Some may say that Aang should've killed the Fire Lord, but I beg to differ. First of all, he didn't kill because this was planned; second, this show is supposed to teach you something. There is always another way.
People always look to the world for a new meaning, but the world would have no meaning if it weren't for the people. People create stories, and thus they are told, heard, and seen. The world would be nothing if it weren't for the stories people tell, and no story would have a meaning if they weren't understood. The stories that teach you something are always to the heart, and when they reach your heart it is hard to turn back. They are unforgettable and pleasing to the mind.
Stories are doors to the heart. They can teach you something when you look for the right something, and can affect you in every which way.People always say that your surroundings shape your personality, but you are the one that chooses your surroundings. Opening yourself up to new ideas, places, things, can help you to understand yourself, and everything you open yourself up to goes to your heart as long as you let it in. I learned that from Avatar.
Avatar: The Last Airbender isn't a show, it is a story.
