Dick. I wasn't expecting much from GDC until this clown started hyping up a big surprise announcement yesterday. The Iwata keynote came and went this morning with that new Zelda DS game, but nope, it wasn't that. It was going to be a big multiplatform announcement.

It turns out to be a CoD MW2 teaser, which is cool on it's own, but should never been hyped like this. It's a teaser trailer for an already announced game, wow. No gameplay, just some vague setting material and a release date. This game would have been better off if it was unveiled at E3 with some gameplay to back it up, and one less media monkey looking for attention.

I liked RE4, but it really wasn't that scary. On the other hand, I'm too much of a puss to play through my copy of Resident Evil REmake because of a certain thing. Actually multiple certain things, that are the size of cars, and are also dark, hairy, and have eight legs.

Well it looks like oversized spiders are making a triumphant return to RE5. Though they aren't quite as big as RE's previous arachnids, they still scare the cosby kids outta me. To tell the truth, I'm actually kind of happy that they are back, because RE is meant to make you cry.

Good thing I'll now be playing the game during the day, with all the lights on, and with at least one other person in the room. Cause I'm a man damnit

The NFL rights will now remain exclusive to EA through the 2012 season?!

    NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

What the hell. The dreams of future NFL 2K and NFL Blitz installments will have to wait. All-Pro Football, Blitz the League, and Backbreaker just aren't the same without the NFL liscense.

It's time to break out the crystal ball and predict some GS and IGN scores! Why? Because it's fun to do now, and look back on later. How good am I at it? I'm horrible, which makes it all the better. So as July rolls on and August looms on the horizon, some games will be released, and GS & IGN are bound to review them sooner or later, but you don't need to wait for their scores, I already know them:

    Paper Mario (Wii)
The N64's only noteworthy RPG hits the Wii's Virtual Console soon, and I expect some major praise. But no re-release, no matter how good they are, will be superb. I'm seeing an 8.5 from GS. Those lightning fast reviewers at IGN already gave it a 9.0, so no prediction from me.

RESULT: GS gave it a 9.0 (+0.5), I'm pretty surprised at this one, I guess a re-release can be superb.

Guitar Hero: Rock the 80s (PS2)
An expansion of last years hit Guitar Hero 2 provides 30 new hits from the colorful 80s. I'm getting a vision of it recieving an 8.0 from GS and an 8.6 from IGN

RESULT: GS gave it a 7.0 (-1.0) and IGN gave it a 7.2 (-1.4)....This is off to a horrible start! Thanks a lot GH...

    NASCAR 08 (360 & PS3)
I don't know diddly squat about the most boring of sports, but the previous games seem to have been fairly praised. This is a first attempt at the series on next-gen consoles, so I don't expect the best results. My crystal ball tells me that it'll recieve an 8.0 from GS and an 8.2 from IGN

RESULT: GS gave it a 6.0 (-2.0) IGN gave it a 5.0 (-3.2)...............wtf, I'm cursing these poor games!!!!

    Escape from Bug Island (Wii)
Bug island is an island infested with over sized bugs, and the game looks pretty crappy. I have a hunch that this cheesy little game will recieve a 5.5 from GS and a 6.2 from IGN

    Alien Syndrome (Wii)
A top down shooter from SEGA pits you against alien bugs and stuff. Doesn't look like the best experience from the 5 minutes I saw On the Spot. It's a horrible assumption based off of 5 minutes of gameplay footage, but it's good enough for me. I'm seeing a 7.0 from GS and a 7.6 from IGN

RESULT: GS gave it a 5.0 (-2.0) IGN gave it a 5.5 (-2.1), I'm suck sooo bad at this

    Super Mario Strikers Charged (Wii)
Mario is still playing sports, and the fun little soccer game with some online options looks like it'll recieve an 8.0 from Gamespot and an 8.6 from IGN

RESULT: GS gave it a 7.5 (-0.5) IGN gave it an 8.3 (-0.3), oh thank goodness, something relatively close

I wish I did this a little quicker so I could have added All-Pro Football, NCAA, and Bomberman predictions before they went up, but oh well. Now it's just time to wait and check back to see how poorly I have done.

Overall Results: I'm not cut out for this

Okay, I get that GS wants to change up how they score games, and I can deal with that, since it's not like I really care if Halo 3 gets a 9.0 instead of a 9.2, but they had to ruin it for us users?! That sucks . I don't want to give Gears of War an 8.5, I'd much rather give it the 8.6 that I feel it deserves. And once I find a game that I'm dying to give an 8.8 or a 9.2, I'm really gonna freak out! I don't want to put up with this .5 crap, this isn't EGM.com, is it?

I'm angry! Just look at the smilies:
