Well you know what they say, a picture is worth a thousand words.
So how about a video?
I know I failed at that "the 5 things I think I know about someone blog", but I've come up with a better idea! I'll let a video do the talking!
So here's what's up, instead of writting walls of text describing what I think I know about someone, I shall post a youtube link to a video that I think describes the said person best. That way my 4 readers can run through my blog and get to important things faster.
So I shall post them as I met them:
Monoco (or monco59): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5E_YTrTtLPE I know some of you might be expecting a "Chin" video, but I wont taint these blogs with the Bruce guy, besides the song speaks the truth! So women, if you love your country!
SYdoggXxX: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xRuk6ZRVij8 ****c! He even reminded me of it a couple of days ago! Some of you might think "oh he hot!" "ohhhh you go shake that arse" but trust me on this, you don't want to be Chayanne.
Alkpaz (paz2): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5j2F4VcBmeo Uhmm I don't know about this one, but since I don't know most of your faces, this is the first thing that pops to my mind.
nocoolnamejim: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bvKSzJ3Sacw Those of you that know the inside joke, you gotta
so
Chilidragon: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8gorn1AQWgw
well I did saw those pictures of you aiming a bow at uhmm jim?Sandpiper: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5WeCH9uSlCE I don't know, perhaps it was your first avatar, but this is the first thing that comes to mind.
Fade2gray: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-PGxMkS7UKI uhmm I don't know... I just watched this movie!
jpgalindo: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mbGNuclArDc Well....
I just loved the video!gfile: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H3gOiQHWHwY haha yeah baby!
Oleska: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ij_Pu6dU7dg Well we know you wanna be her, and since you look like her...

tclvis: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B1z74cuSGXk Ahh I know you love them!
RK-MARA: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E2Ft0_jwdKw uhmm for some reason...
To all those who are missing, I don't feel I know you well enough to attack you like this, but just say the word or throw a punch my way and man! It's on!

Fiat iustitia et pereat mundus
"Let justice be done should the sky fall!"

For those of you that don't know me, I am an attorney by trade, though I handle mostly labor cases, a good friend of mine asked for my help on a criminal case. My friend was a CFO on a multinational company which was recently taken over. As usual, those without severance payments upon termination are the first to go, and my friend wasn't the exception. But this was not all, he among other officers was charged with a special form of larceny and embezzlement.
Funny thing is how we usually judge people BEFORE actual sentencing is pronounced, thus jails in North and South America are flooded with people awaiting sentence. Did you know that in some states 60% of a jails inmate population is awaiting sentence? I wonder what happened to "innocent until proven otherwise".
My buddy was arrested last April and bail was set at 1.6 mil, so he had to face trial in jail. A curious legalese detail about this special mixture between larceny and embezzlement is that you have to have powers of administration from the accusing party in order to appropriate goods entrusted to the accused administration. So did he had such powers? NOOOOOO. So what the hell was that judge thinking when the trial started? Well for starters the company's attorney was close pals with him AND the DA. What they used as a base for the acusation was that my friends signature was important (so that the CEO knew he had reviewed the transaction, even though not necessary for all company checks... There you have it! He had the power to put his signature on company checks!
When you face a battle like this you tend to lose hope and faith in the legal system, because you watch helplessly how the law can be bended and corrupted by man's twisted interests, and how the real power behind our sacred legal institutions is MONEY, not the money my buddy supposedly stole, but the one distributed by our "honorable" authorities.
Fortunately when you accuse someone of a crime, and the DA and Judge are your buddies you tend to lower your guard, you tend to overlook small details, you tend to ignore that appeals exist, and that somewhere, someone still believes in a just system, that someone thinks that our lives can be perfected by a system of laws that serve man, not the other way around. So the DA and the Judge made several mistakes in the interpretation of the law, altered the facts and the ruling to start the trial was reversed by an appellate court. My fried was released last Friday and was reunited with his wife and 3 kids (one of them was born while he was in prison).
You might say "worse cases exist in which the poor fella doesn't get out 'till years later" but that is now what we should celebrate. We should celebrate that this one only spent 2 months in jail for a crime he didn't commit.
So now... Back to gaming!
I'm happy to report that Mass Effect returned my faith in gaming, which I left abandoned for quite some time (2 months is a LOT), And that I'm playing Age of Conan as a lowly level 5 Conqueror that goes by the name Arcadiuskol in the Hyperborian server.
AND I know my idea about the 5 things I think I know about someone blog didn't work as I expected, but I'm currently fixing this.
Cheers!
And LET JUSTICE BE DONE SHOULD THE SKY FALL!

Blog '08: The 5 things you don't know about me...just click it ok?
Well now, it seems that only a few minutes ago you visited a blog regarding the all too famous topic about the same 5 things you don't know about someone. This has to stop.
I decided to take a different approach on this changing the idea altogether, something called reverse psychology or something.

I will state the 5 things I think I know about someone and then change the said person on a different blog and so on.
I should start with Monoco, since he was one of the first people I met here in GS.
So here are the 5 facts I think I know about Monoco:
1. He is from Finland, a country to which I harbor a deep respect and admiration for what it has endured during WWII and throughout history, and what it has now become. The language is a pain to learn though.
2. His parents must be diplomats or else work around the globe, so to explain his mastery over the English language and his knowledge of American culture, pop culture and politics. Perhaps he has studied here, but he seems too young for that.
3. He has a strange affinity towards that "b" actor Bruce Campbell, sometimes bordering on the sentimental attraction. The strange factor is increased by the fact that it is not likely that the BC character is famous in Finland, and I've yet to find evidence that contradicts such statement.
4. It is very hard to bother or anger him. Believe me I've tried. Also I've never seen him angry at someone at the forums, even after catching all sorts of hell when he angered the PS3 Consolish fanboys about some Resistance game that he didn't like, sadly the thread has been erased and he earned a moderation I think.
5. He has the make of a journalist. Well a game journalist at least (a non game journalist would most likely lie, extort, blackmail etc.), for I find his reviews complete, honest and fun to read, and they seem to be written by a guy that had a lot of fun making them. He could take on any reviewer out there, so I guess that is why he seems to accumulate moderations and suspensions
. I can't wait to play Mass Effect for that matter, I mean once they do it correctly for the PC.So there ya go.
Next week: Alkpaz (I shall be doing these blogs in the order I met people on GS)
