#8 of genre countdown

I think it's time to show number 8 of this countdown. Also, GameSpot's feature All Time Greatest Game Herohas came to the stage where we are allowed to make our brackets, so if you haven't made yours do it now, the voting starts at September 1, and the finals are on October 15. I will only say that there are some matches already at the begin and some characters which many doesn't know (I didn't knew for 20 of those characters ). Also, I've been playing Final Fantasy VI for SNES mostly because I heard great things about it, but the real thing that motivated me to play itwas a user, dark_massenger, who wrote just great things about it in his blogs . And the new emblem which I got is cute , here it is:

#8: Vechicle based games

Why vechicle based games? I didn't wanted just driving or racing, that's why. This genre is divided in two groupes, simulations, which wants to bring the reallity as close as possible, and arcade which wants to bring as much fun as possible. Because the market want's fun and not frustration because of failing, the simulation subgenre of this genre is decreasing in numbers of released games.

I'm someone who preffers challenge and that's why I preffer simulation. I'm playing this genre since I'm gaming so that's means some 12-13 years. I played many games from this genre but my favorites are:

1) Gran Turismo series
2) Need for Speed series
3) Burnout series
4) Mario Kart series
5) Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X.

That was my number 8 . I think my next blog will be number 7 of this countdown, but after that comes the monthly blog and I thinking to make a blog of my most anticipated games of this fall (I throw the idea away to make a blog about GamesCom ).

Oh, and these are the genres which are still in the race:

Platformers, Shooters, Action-Adventure (stealth, survival-horror, open world games), Adventure, Role-Playing games (Action RPG, MMORPG, Tactical RPG), Startegy (Real-Time Strategy, Tower defense, 4X, Real-Time tactics, Turn-based strategy, Turn-based tactics) and Puzzle.

    Congrats on getting a new emblem and believe it or not driving games are the only type of sports games that I actually play.

    I don't play many racing games but I really want to play Burnout Paradise, is it like a free-roam racing game?

    Also I've already made my brackets and my final four were Ratchet and Clank, Cloud Strife, Jak and Daxter, and Wander, and the winner was Cloud. I didn't know alot of the characters on that list either, I probably knew two-thirds of them.

    Good choice, I loved the H.A.W.X demo
    PGR4 is my fave racing game on the 360, I also like need for speed mario karts also pretty fun.
    good idea to combine all vechile games into one otherwise you'd have had driving/flying/simulation.. O_o

    aww, i was wrong this time..
    good chooise tho, i prefer the arcade than simulation because i think its more fun, thats why i like burnout and NFS series..

    congrats for TOTS emblem and we just got All Time Greatest Game Hero emblem.. yay!

    I've always wanted to try Gran Turismo, but yet to play it.

    In terms of gaming genres, do you enjoy user-created games like LittleBigPlanet?

    I went and made my bracket yesterday don't know how far I will get though. And racing games hmm...I haven't played one of those since Nascar 99 on the PS1.

    My favorite racing games are the Mario Kart series,Initial D and Gran Turismo.I like Mario Kart games because they're easy to get into,I like Initial D because of it's drift style of racing,and I like Gran Turismo for it's simulation/career mode and upgrade/tuning options.

    @N8A - I also, I'm playing since the first one

    @ResistanceUFC - it's great

    @SquareEnixFan13 - you can drive through the city and landscape whenever you want, you don't need just to do mission. My final four were Link, Mario, Master Chief and Snake with Snake winning, but my favorite heroes from those are Kartos and Cloud

    @gormo4 - H.A.W.X. is a good game but like many reviews said, you are flying with a speed of more then 1500 KM/H and it feels like you are driving with 60 km/h that's the only thing that I hated I would probably have put PGR on there if I would own a X360

    @riou7 - you can't be right always I also love to have fun but somehow I preffer to have a lot of frustrastion and then after many cursing that I beat that part and yes for emblems, I would like if they were giving them out like they are doing it now

    @6h05tly - GT is great I think I gave you the answer in your blog

    @Colmillios - The brackets are hard 10 years ago the last time playing a racing game

    @metroidblaster - yeah it's fun and just because of that GT is in front of it and thanks

    @alidallal - thanks yeah, I know that dark_massenger is your brother and he really knows how to get someone to play a game I also love FF VI, just like him I'm thinking if it's gonna be my fav FF game, for now FF XII holds that title

    @ZanarkandTidus - to be honest till your comment I never heard of Initial D and I love those franchises from mostly the reason as you

    I chose my bracket already & well let's see how the competition unfolds & Congrats for the TOTS emblem..........

    I love Racing genre, If it was my list it would be somewhere 5 or so, Still I like Arcade racing more & it's not because of challenge, It's because Racing should b fun rather then boring tracks & Slow cars .........

    My Bro loves simulation & also plays arcade, I only like arcade.......
