    Digital Distribution and Lumines Live!

Here is my thought about all the fuss regarding Lumines Live! - is it worth it or a rip off?!

I think the only thing wrong here (about Lumines) is that M$ and Q! failed to mention us that the "full" game is the Base pack...

And the game is more like a retail game being distributed via Xbox Live - of course it would easily cross the (if I'm correct) 50MB limit for an arcade game....

The Base pack is 50MB already, then this new Advance pack is also 50mb.... So as Shleco wrote in a Xbox 360 board topic:

    Shleco wrote:
    The game costs:

1200 points - Base Pack - Challenge Mode (12 skins), Multiplayer Mode, 1 vs. CPU level, 5 Puzzle Levels, 5 Mission Levels
600 points - Advanced Pack (not out yet) - 22 new skins in additional Challenge Mode
    400 points (TBC) - Mission/Puzzle Pack - 10 Mission Levels, 35 Puzzle Levels
300 points (TBC) - vs. CPU pack - 9 vs. CPU levels

That makes 2500 points. Which is not $15. Whether you think all this is good value is up to you but it is not the bargain Major Nelson has led people to believe. In fact, it's not what Microsoft have led us to believe. They have misled their consumers - the only way you'll know you need the Mission/Puzzle and vs. CPU packs are when you buy the full game. The Trial Version fails to mention this.

...we may expect those other packs to be like 30MB, 15MB maybe... An arcade game that's like 150mb....

So the price is kinda fair isn't it (even though the other packs' price isn't confirmed)? For a literally "great" arcade game...

As people are saying, just get what you want - stick with the Base pack or don't even buy Lumines Live! at all...

But again, they failed to mention it (if I may say so) wasn't supposed to be an "arcade" game, and yet (again, if I dare to say) a full "retail" game to be distributed via Xbox Live....

So, what's next? Castlevania: Symphony of The Night is coming to Xbox Live Arcade as well (or so they say)... But can we expect that it will be a 50MB game or will it be like Lumines - downloaded by packs?

I only hope they don't try to distribute Halo 3 level by level through Live!!! Now where's my 160GB HDD...

Artwork accepted! And I skipped a level...

My banner has been accepted and I got the Artistic Genius emblem...
And I realized that I missed the entire level 6 (I was level 5 yesterday when I logged in, now I'm 7...), which makes me think - am I wasting too much time on this website, or my computer??

Gosh, I need to get a life...

    My 360 drama...

I bought my 360 on launch day (sister waited 18 hours in line o_O, thanks to her). It was playing fine since the 2 weeks before Christmas (3 red lights...). Problem solved, no worries till January when I came back home (I live in Brazil, by the way).

For over a dozen times I got those red lights... I called M$, they would not send me the UPS box - I would have to pay to ship it back. Great, just great...

It took 9 days to arrive in Texas (Feb 17th)... Then we kept calling them, and for 2 weeks they didn't know a thing about my 360... Great, now they lost my 360 o_O - I thought.

We talked to some supervisor, sent some emails to M$ (not to the XB support) and after some complaining and stress they finally took some action - just because some guy at the M$ (who didn't like to hear our complaining) talked to the XB support center...

Yup, they shipped it back, but who knows... It might not get back alive or whatever... o_O
