My Friends

Agreb91's Blog. Enjoy it.

I have decided to do a "Top 10 Countdown of my favorite games EVER" This will come in 10 parts on ten random days when I have the time to post a blog. So let the countdown begin!

    Starting at number 10:

    10. Pokemon: Red Version

Yes, really. Pokemon Red Version makes into my list at number 10. The reason is simple. I remember playing this game as a kid with my cousin for hours by training our Pokemon and trading them with each other. This game really shaped my childhood and helped complete my dream of being a Pokemon trader. Lets face it. This was a really good game. The game's RPG elements were simple enough for a 7 year-old to understand. The game was enjoyable and getting your Pokemon was a huge accomplishment. I am not afraid to say this is still one of my favorite games. This is one of the few Game Boy games I have not lost over time. I still have it and I am glad I do. I also own all of the Pokemon handheld games from Game Boy to DS, but this is the only one on the list.

    Good evening GameSpot,

It has been a long while since I did a real blog here on GameSpot. To tell the truth I kind of abandoned GameSpot last summer. It is no secret why, another site opened up and I was drawn there for other reasons. But the past several months I find myself coming to GameSpot and looking at reviews and coming to this blog and looking at profiles of people's blogs I used to read all the time. I miss reading a lot of them and communicating with a lof of you,

I actually want this blog to serve as kind of a "hello" again to the GameSpot community. The reason is because a lot has changed in over a year since I have updated any of you on my life or for maybe the new friends I will meet at GameSpot again. First off, I am Aaron. I am 18 years old and enjoy gaming while at home and talking about games with my close friends. My favorite type of game is open-world sandbox games. Currently I am playing Prototype which is pretty good. I also get really tired of FPS games. I have an Xbox Live gamer tag, Agreb72.

I first came to GameSpot in the fall of 2005. I came here because of the great reviews and community and I wanted to get involved. My first couple of years at GameSpot I was actively involved and loved being in the forums. I eventually met a lot of great people here on GameSpot. However, recently, I grew tired of GameSpot, its ugly redesign, and it chaotic departures. So finally, I called it quits here about a year ago. But, its hard to say good-bye to a place you have gone to for years. So that is why "I am back". I don't plan to be a heavy forum user, or post a blog every day or week, but I am here. It is good to be back. As always leave a comments below.

    Agreb

EDIT: I updated some of images on my blog, let me know what you think.

It is that time of the year again! E3, so of course I will be using GameSpot for live coverage, along with G4.

So what are you expecting to see or want to see this year at E3?

I am alive. If they lack of updating the blog made you nervous about my death I am alive, for now. School for me starts soon, so I will not be very active here at GameSpot. Still will come by to check reviews and the news. Thats about it, oh and blogs.

    For now.

So today a bomb blew up! Yes GiantBomb has finally launched! I already have signed up over there and have a user name as well. I go by Aaron_G there. Feel free to add more to your network if you are a member there.

So now that GiantBomb has launched I face a problem. There is a blog there for me to use, forums, and a bunch of cool editing features. So what to do? Leave GameSpot? No! I will use both and update both so I can keep in touch will all you guys here, who I have been following and reading blogs of yours for almost three years now.

So follow me on GiantBomb and well here too!

The Dark Knight... best movie this year.

More E3 madness from me. Not in a huge blogging mode, but some quick updates.

Gears of War 2 - Seeing more of it in action and all the Locust on screen is pretty amazing.

Fable II - Still pretty exceited.

Dashboard Update - Themes and gamerpics are still going to be there. Going on a disk too for ppl without Live. Save games on the HDD. Awesome.

Mercenaries 2 - Awesome, did you see that atomic bomb dropped at the stage demo?

    Can't remember anymore.

Oh, LittleBigPlanet. Probably the game that will make me get a PS3.

Thats all for now. The madness continues.

Now that all conferences are over and watched them, even though my emblem says I only watched Microsoft, I watched ALL three. I am not doing my reactions to Nintendo and Sony, well Nintendo's made me sad and that ruined my caring to pay attention.

    So...

The best conference this year in my opinion was...

Microsoft. They delivered. Showed some hard core games up front. New dashboard. Awesome. Stuff for other people. And PORTAL! And Uno: Rush.I actually like the Avatars, you now actually have an identity online. BTW, Nintendo didn't invent the avatar Mii thing, it already exsisted, they were just the first to use it.

Sony. Nice stuff. Resistance 2 and a PSP Resistance. New content, video and movie for PSN. LittleBigPlanet as a thing to show figures. New hits for PS3, PS2 is still alive.

Nintendo. Yuck. Boring nothing exciting. The woman doing the thing first made my angry. Animal Crossing doesn't count Nintendo. Stop leaving you fans behind for your new fanbase the "casual gamer". Really Nintendo. Disappointing.

So that is what I think. It is really late here. This would've been up sooner but I went out for awhile. More E3 blogs to come!

So this is my second time typing this. So lets hope this works. Microsoft Press Conference just wrapped up and it was very interesting what they had to offer and say. A lot of the conference was a punch in the face to Sony.

Fallout 3: Come on first. Showed a very funny video and then some of the gameplay. Very nice looking, limbs blow off! Awesome!

[EDIT] Here is the trailer that they showed, but extended.

Resident Evil 5: First gameplay I have scene. Looks very nice. Co-op helps you in the game.

Fable II: Peter M. stated the game "is finished". But we still have to October to wait...? More on the co-op in the game. Some Orb thing shows your friends in the game, I guess in real time. You hit a button by that orb and they jump into your game.

Gears of War 2: Awesome new footage that shows the game. A lot of Locust on the screen, showing that the Unreal Engine can handle it. Awesome, chain-saw gun.

Dashboard Update: New interface will be available this fall. Through the "magic of software". Avatars will great you on the screen. New stuff and features. Playable game shows, example, 1 vs. 100. Share photos. Netfilx available. New partnerships with NBC and Universal. Dashboard looks nice. I don't hate it, kinda Vista like though.

    Xbox Live Arcade:

    • Portal Still Alive. XBLA exclusive
    • Geometry Wars 2: Looks like multi-player.
    • Galaga Legions. First true sequel.

GH: World Tour: So far 5 Million GH units sold on Xbox 360 platform. Lots of songs coming to World Tour. Including Metallica.

Lips: Its Karoke, microphone lights up. Some Duffy girl sang. Zune and iPod will be able to have music used of them. Rock Band 2: 85 master tracks in the game. Guns and Roses song, AC/DC, and Metallica for them. All RB 1 songs will be forwarded to this game. NO DISC SWAPPING YAY!

Rare: Banjo and Viva Pinata; Trouble in Paradise. Nothing new. Oh the original Banjo is coming to XBLA.

Square Enix: Release dates for a bunch of games and finally, Final Fantasy XIII is coming to the Xbox 360! WHOO!

[EDIT] The version of this at my blogger blog has more videos, so if you want to see some of the trailers, inclduing FF XIII, close up! Go here

So that event called E3: Media and Business Summit kicks off tomorrow. I am thrilled as I always am. To let you know for your enjoyment I will be viewing the live feeds here on GameSpot, have G4's coverage on as well, and following GiantBomb as well. So I figured I make this blog a little fun. So I have included the top 5 games I am looking forward to this E3.

    5. Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe

Two really awesome universes combined. What more could you ask for?

    4. Fable II

I have seen a lot of this game for awhile now, but I am hoping that we will see a more complete version of the game and maybe see it really get to be played by the people at E3.

    3. Gears of War 2

I really don't need a reason more that is Gears of War 2. I really hope they "2" get dropped. I don't know if that is the official name. So if it isn't I would like to see it have a better name. But it probaly won't.

    2. Spore

I have already tried the Spore Creature Creator and that was pretty cool. Spore is a Will Wright came so it will obviously change things in the industry and you know be an awesome game. I also want to know more about the game.

    so at number 1....

    Star Wars: The Force Unleashed

This is probaly one of my most anticipated games of this year. I really love this Star Wars universe and you know the force at my finger tips in this game should be pretty interesting.

[EDIT] Those are just my top 5 games to look for at E3. ( I am talking like I will be there ) Here are some others I am interested in as well, Fallout 3, Mirror's Edge, RockBand 2, SoulCalibur IV, GH: World Tour, LittleBigPlant, Home (Yeah...), and Resistance 2.

So tomorrow and the following days will be reations to Microsoft's, Sony's and Nintendo's press conferences. See you in the chat rooms!

Hello guys. I won't be blogging for a while due to the lack of comments I have been receiving for a while. I know my blogs are not the most interesting things in the world, but I could still use a "Hello" or "thats nice". I still only post blogs to keep in contact with you guys at GameSpot. So I see no reason to post those blogs if people don't want to see what I have to say or what I am doing. So just for now the blog ends, probably until E3, where I will actually have something to talk about.

Thanks to the people you do comment on my blog every time I post, you are a great support to me and my blog. Catch you all later.

Oh, I may be out of town sometime this week.

Well, today I turn the big 17, well it is no significant birthday, but now I can get into rated R movies. ALRITE! So you know it was a quite birthday a little birthday you know, I did hang with some friends. We went and the new Will Smith flick, Hancock.

It was different. It was a movie about a super hero, but not that epic really. It was more of... a dramtic comedy about super heroes in a confusing story that seemed it was missing pieces for it to make real sense. I walked away from the theater not to happy about the movie. For this movie I would agree with the critics so I give Hancock a C.

In birthday news, I didn't ask for anything. Didn't want too. I am buying myself a computer. It is going to be an older Mac. It is a Mac Power PC G4. I want to see what this whole Mac thing is about, you know?

So thats it for now. later guys!

When I am not playing Guitar Hero or Rock Band I have my toy drums, mics, and guitars in my closet. They take up a lot of space and I am running out of that space as well. Then Guitar Hero: World Tour was announced, the first thought in my mind was "I am getting this", than it was " where I am going to put all this stuff?" Guitar Hero: Aerosmith has come out as well, being a huge Aerosmith fan, I would like to get the game and the guitar, but where to put it? Now things just got worse today with the announcement of Rock Band 2! Now I have the choice of added the updated perphials to my already to overflowing closet.

I do plan on getting GH: World Tour and Rock Band 2, but why do these games need to come out so close together? Give my a break! I do love these gaems, but really.

Well, I guess the calling to be a rock star in these games, takes my closet space as a sacrifice.

    COMPLETED

Well, I got my act together and finally finished GTA IV! I can tell you the ending of the game was very sad and the final mission was a must win for Niko and for him to finally get closure on everything he has gone through. I am very happy with my progress through it, though I may go back to it and finish up some things to get some missing achievments. I will also do a review of this game shortly.

Now I turn my attention to Overlord this week. After that it shall be something else, something new I will pick up.

Since Summer started yesterday I think it is time to officially begin my "Summer Gaming" So basically I will list all the games I plan to get and beat over this summer. I will update the list weekly to cross games off the list or add new ones I forgot previously. So lets begin shall we?

Starting the list off is a game I NEED to beat.

    1. Grand Theft Auto IV, this fell of my radar due to exams and taking a break from it.

    2. Overlord, I picked this out of a bargain bin and I am close to finishing this one.

    3. Dragon Ball Z: Burst the Limit, I plan to get this real soon, and should not take to long to complete it.

    4. Guitar Hero: On Tour, I am still debating this one. I do want it though.

    5. Guitar Hero: Aerosmith, I am huge Aerosmith fan so it is only natural I want this game. Thing is, do I really want two GH games that close together?

    6. Rock Band, I still have awhile to go on Solo-tour in Vocals and on the drums, and I need to get the band back together.

So that is the list so far. I am really close to beating GTA IV, so I can cross that off the list next week, probably along with Overlord as well.

Well that is it for now. I will update soon.

    Later.

Well I updated my blog. New stuff, pretty simple. The way I want it. Tomorrow is a big day for me. Firefox 3 comes out, and I get to go to a water park for free since it is a corporate event so we have it to ourselves as well.

That is about it actually. I need to hit the hay.
