Hey guys, is anyone else having problems with lagging when Xfire is running.........I mean, i've been playing BAtman AA and it lags a LOT when Xfire is running......I closed Xfire and it ran BUTTER smooth, does anyone know how I can fix this, cos I wanna enjoy my games, and also track my hours and take sweet screenies......would be really appreciated!!!

I was thinking about this the other day, it happened when we tried to use one my friends 360 Hard drive on ANOTHER 360 that we were using.......
and the when we tried to aaccess the save games on the hard drive, the 360 said something about not being able to do that and you need the original console that the game was installed on......
To me that seemed stupid, here we have perfectly legit games, hard-drives and 360s, and all we wanted to do was hook up a Friend 1's hard Drive to Friend 2's 360 and it won't let you access any game that were installed on there......I mean lets be real!!!
So I thought, here's an idea, imagine that they slotted a memory card intoyour CONTROLLER, (i mean, they are tiny and CHEAP CHEAP!!) so you can SEND your save games and stuff to your controller and access them on any 360, just like you can do with a PC and save game files....
Cos there are situations like mine where my mates all have 360s and 1 or 2 controllers and when we meet up, they just bring the controllers (and batteries) to whoevers place we're going to and bam!! Whatever you wanna access is literally in the palm of your hands!!! it would make life SOOOO much easier
Now I realise that MS still wanna sell hard drives to make more dough and the fact that they'd have to put some thought into tweaking the controller but come on, at least give us the option to use the HDDs on different 360s!!!1

Ok, so here's the thing, I read in recently that Activision had bought out like 5 development studios sometime last year, and now those studios don't exist anymore.....that to me looks like an old school EA move, eating up the lil competitor that stood up to the big bully......that to me is pretty lame cos its normally these smaller dev studois that push the boundaries of gaming, they are the ones that think of fresh ideas and run with them, because they don't have a big fatcat on their a$$ saying that their ideas aren't mainstream enough (read: not enough space marines, the colour grey, brown and BROWNER etc etc you know how it is). These guys just come up with a crazy idea, get the cash and make the game the best they can......ok sure sometimes it doesn't work out and it goes all pear-shaped, but when it does, it really is worth taking note. I mean take the game Zeno Clash, came outta nowhere (Chile or Brazil to be exact) and got super solid reviews from websites and ppl around the globe....All over the web you can read on how different it is, from the story, gameplay mechanics and art style, its unique!!! Now I know i'm rambling a bit here so I'll get to the point........ Why is it that Mega Publishers like Activision, EA, THQ and the rest are allowed to do this, ok you get the exception like EA and Bioware (EA ain't gonna touch nothing in the studio for fear of Gamers all over the world burning down their properties) but a lot of the studios that are bought out are simply competitors that these bigshots don't wanna compete with so they just buy em out.....so not cool!!! I reckon there should be a sort of panel that regulates these things so that this constant buying out the fledgeling competition can be stopped. Honestly, I'd like to see more competition and by having more lil dev studios around, we'll see new gameplay ideas, fresh takes on old ideas (ala Zeno Clash and possibly Interstellar Marines, heck even The Witcher) Because if there ain't a stop to this, we may just keep seeing Gears of War clones over and over again...... What do you guys think?? Let me know if I'm right, sorta think I know what I'm talking bout, or am just an idiot =P

Ok so here's the thing, I was thinking about my specs and stuff and they're sweet and all, but I was wondering what things I could add to make the it even better...
1st of all, this is what I've got
CPU: Intel E7500
Ram: Random 3Gb
Mobo: Asus P5Q Pro Turbo
GPU: Asus GTX 275 896MB
PSU: Crappy thing I NEED to change hahahaha
ok so those are my specs, and as it says the 1st thing i'll be doing will be getting a new PSU this Christmas to sure up my PC. Anyways, I was supposed to get a Q8400 but the guy my folks got the part from told them that the E7500 was better and screwed them over. So that got me thinking, since my Mobo can take a C2Q would it be worth it upgrading up to a Q9400. I'm not sure what the differences would be, but I'll research it when I have time after exams, so for now I thought I'd just ask you guys......or heck maybe even going up to an i5, but the only problem with that is having to get new ram and motherboard to ssupport it, so what do you guys think.
Also my ram, I've got some budget no-name ram, and I was thinking of selling that and grabbing so proper gaming ram, would that affect my performance enough to warrant the price?

Hey Guys.....as you know Borderlands came out recently and is doing really really well in terms of sales and scores and I'm superstoked about it cos I've been following it ever since it got revealed and I'm obviously gonna get it so that I can play it on my new pc
.......but now that its released I feel kinda empty, cos now that its out, there isn't a game that I'm looking out for with so much enthusiasm, so I was wondering, what are any games that you are looking out for that not a lot of ppl know about?? OWOW, I thought this day would NEVER come!!! I got the new parts for my pc......
Motherboard: Asus P5Q Pro Turbo
GFX: Asus GTX 275
CPU: Intel E7500
PSU: LC Power 550W
HDD: Still to get
Ram: Still to get
hahaha ok so its not ALL here but its soooo close!!! Gonna grab a 320GB Samsung HDD and 2/3 GB Ram to boot......hopefully with this stuff I can be set for a while and just tweak when I need to....
oh and I got 4 games for roughly $45 last week....... Hitman Bloodmoney (because there ain't nothing like a sweet assassination

30Jun 08Spain claimed their second Euro crown, with the first coming ELEVEN tournaments aog.............Spain have long been known as the under-achievers, having had great players (Raul and others) and great coaches, they never seemed to win, now they can finally put that tag to rest and bask in their long-awaited victory with a 1-0 win over the Germans courtesy of a Fernando Torres goal in the 33rd minute.....as for the Germans, its a 2nd Loss in a Final in 6 yrs after their 2-0 loss to Brazil in the World cup in Korea/Japan. In particular, its the 5th that Ballack has come out of a Final empty handed, unlucky 4 him!.........overall I was rooting for the germans because I liked their style and character, but Spain deserved it after there great play and consistency........WELL DONE SPAIN!!!!

19May 08OK, so yesterday I posted a blog about the mod community, all I did was state what an awesome job they're doing and stuff and my blog got deleted for spamming...WTF 0.o.....anywho here I am trying again...yea, well I reckon mods are 1 of the reasons why PC is better than consoles, I mean, who doesn't like rolling around GTA in a Hummer or Lambo..or adding 100+ new units to C&C generals......these r just 2 of MANY MANY mods out there and some of them are spectacular (garrys Mod etc).....what is sad is that some really promising mods go down the drain because the guy-gal wit the idea can't do it on his/her own and thats sad cos some of the mods I've seen did look epic...so if ya'll know anything about modding or know anyone who knows anything about it should check out the site www.moddb.com, this is the best mod site imo and it really showcases all good mods and upcoming mods too, so if u think you can offer something to these mods, pls take a look at what u fancy and ask if the person needs help.....you never know, you might be helping to make the next Counter-strike (which was a mod btw)

3May 08So last night I watched the movie, me and my m8s intended to watch the second to last show of the night, but it was sold out.........TWO HOURS the movie!!!!! How crazy is that, ppl were seriously keen to watch this movie!!! So we ended deciding to watch the last movie...we had to wait 4 hours to watch it.....BUT DAYUM was it worth it.....wat a frigging awesome movie...it was just so frigging KEWL!!!!!!!! ah I just can't begin to describe it....even 1 of my friends who's not into those types of movies was impressed, so me, a tech crazy nerd, I couldn't take my eyes off it...this is definitely not a movie u watch with a girl, cos it won't do you any favours hahaha.........so I seriously recommend that everyone takes time off this weekend to watch this movie, yes, even you GTA IV gamers, get off ur 360/PS3 and go and watch it!!!!!!!

More of the games on my scope for 2008!!
Alan Wake: Ahhh, good old alan wake.......I think this games slogan should be...."When it's done" because that's all the press has been getting out of the devs..hopefully, when its done, it'll fulfill its promise of awesome psycho-thriller....the tech running the game is nothing short of awesome so lets hope they can use that to make it as awesome to play as it is to look at!!!
Devil May Cry 4: Ok I know this 1 has come out for Ps3 and 360, its due out on pc soon and I can't wait for it. The action packed gameplay, wicked story, swords AND guns and hot gals with juggs!!! Is it just me or is that a recipe for a masterpiece!!!!! I've watched the cinematics on GT and they are like EPIC!!!!!! LOVE it HAHAHA!!!
OfficialRise of the Argonauts: Back to the times of the gods and greeks.....this game is about Jason and the golden fleece and Hercules......!!! I think this might be a proper Action Rpg, the vids show you jumping around slashing people and monsters with blood purting out like there's no tomorrow..........COOL!!!!! They're really trying to make it isceral and bloody which is exactly wat those times were about.....this is one game I'm really keen to get my hands on so it better be good or a wk or 2 after its release date, the liquid entertainment team might all dissappear.....oh and u get to fight alongside hercules....CMON!!!!!
OfficialPrototype: Oh this 1......thisWILL be a Hit this year.....I can guarantee that, open world, shapeshifting, intense story, parkour, weapons.....i mean...YOU CAN HIJACK A HELI........WHILE ITS IN THE AIR!!!!!!!!!! aaarrgggh, describing this game doesn't really do it justice, do a liresearch and I guaranntee ya'll will be as excited as I am.....oh yea, a couple of sites compared this to GTA 4, because of the types of game they are, the sites thought that they would be competing against each other, and all the sites that compared them said they'd rather buy prototype!!!! (HIINT HINT!!!!) D oyourself a favour and look into this game!!

Heya, more games that I'm looking out for..........
Splinter Cell Conviction: Ah the good ol' Splinter cell series, long been THE stealth game to beat, and this one is looking to break the shackles of that stealth title, with awesome looking fighting moves and crowd interaction (ala Assassin'c Creed) It looks fantastic, but I'm just hoping they optimize it better than they did SC4......oh well, we'll just have to see!!!
Starcraft 2:......huh, need I say more, one of the greatest pc games of a sequel is getting its overdue sequel....it looks sharp and Blizzard are saying its their best work ever
....anyways, I didnt really play SC1 and I'm keen to see why this series is of herald!!!They: A sci-Fi FPs, with a (raise ur eye brow name)......wait before you scroll down or up listen to this....Its coming out either really late this year or ealry next year BUT Nvidia have signed it as one of those "the way its meant to be played" games....Thats quite impressive, because Nvidia sign very few games for that and those games are normally very very good......one more thing that really attracted me to this game is the gun customization called "Pimp my Gun" (Har Har)...its pretty sick wat you can do and check the IGN preview, the customization sounds aweome, I mean, who wouldn't want a grenade launching sniper rifle!!, check out one of the vids to check it out!!

Mercenaries 2: World in Flames: (drool drool)....Open world third person BLOW UP ANYTHING YOU WANT GAME!!!!! how can someone NOT want that.....jeez!!!...its gonna have like EVERYTHING, from pistols to air strikes to nuclear bombs!!!....from bikes to tanks to choppers, you can drive.ride them all and use them all......my word this 1 is looking good....add a more then decent storyline and gorgeous graphics and I can't see this 1 not being awesome!!! oh btw, you play as a mercenary

The First of a couple of blogs just showing off what I'm waiting for this year, here goes:
Dead Island: Its an FPS with the ambitious task of bringing back to life the old zombie games, looks really good, with physics playing a major role for traps and puzzles.....also there is a real-time layer damage on characters, so if you hit a zombie hard enough, she/he may well lose skin, but carry on trying to rip ur guts out...lol AWESOME!!!! can't wait!!!
Next up is Brothers in Arms Hells Highway: Well lets face it, BiA is THE WW2 game, its authentic, awesome tactical, the works!!! Its probably the reason why CoD went all modern like. Anyways, this new one has MUCH MUCH better graphics courtesy of UE3 and new squad mechanics and they're trying tomake you attached to your squad as much as possible with lil moments that make you feel together, its pretty ambitious, but if any devs can do it, Gearbox can!!!
Then there's GRiD: Another racing game from the makers of Dirt, this one is trying to get away from the distractions of racing and give you a fully committed racing career, sounds awesome, improved AI from Dirt, improved graphics, damage and all the rest, and you're looking at a winner in my eyes.....can't wait for this one!!!

27Feb 08Well in 2 days its gonna happen, my matric dance (as its called in South africa) or Prom..............I hope its gonna be awesome cos I'm not keen to go if its gonna turn out lame!!! I'm going with a friend so it should be fun, and afterwards I'm going to a m8s house till whatever hours of the morning.......THEN i've got a basketball game!!!!.....oh well looks like I'll have a pretty long day.....oh and on the morning of the dance, I've gotta be at school for soccer training....lol my day is gonna start at 5.30 and end at like 10 the next nyt!!! hahahahaha pray for me ya'll im gonna need it...(and a couple of red bulls)
