Well, time to give this a try then.

Hm...I was looking at BlazBlue the other day. Still full price though, which I'm not really willing to do for a fighting game. Star Ocean 4 is getting a PS3 release soon though, so you can get that for your ps3 if you want.

Yeah, that happens with online. Turok was a sorta 'meh' game overall, but it had a fun online cooperative mode in its multiplayer, but there ain't jack-diddly playing that game online anymore, so it kinda blows. Haha, when I was playing Killzone 2 multiplayer a lot, I was consistantly scoring 2nd place on all matches, so I was pretty proud of that, considering you can die pretty easily in Killzone multiplayer, and then when I was playing WaW multiplayer, I was scoring in the top five most of the time, even against these peoople who Im sure were insane modern warfare addicts. Speaking of which, I'll be picking up Modern Warfare 2 when it comes out next week, so we should try the mutliplayer if you get it.

HAven't beat Crisis Core yet?! Crisis core was the whole reason I got a PSP in the first place. Yeah, you're getting close to the end. It wasn't Tseng who got turned into an Angeal clone, it was Lazard, the SOLDIER director. Tseng is the leader of the turks and is still arounf in FF7 and Advent Children, so he could't have been turned into a copy. Once you get to a point where there's a huge hole in the ground and you have to jump in and "you wont be able to get back out", that's the final dungeon. even though you know what will happen at the very ending of the game, and you know it will be sad, in my opinion, the ending sequence and beyond for Crisis Core were so beautifully done that it easily ranks as the best video game ending I have ever experienced, or likelly will. It is trully touching. Yeah, I agree with retribution though, the chrysalsi seemed much mroe compelling a boss than daeduls. I kinda liked Raine at first but I quickly stopped liking her, just had a gut feeling she was up to something,m and I was right.

Hmm...that is weird with the PSN. I downloaded two new games off of it yesterday, Armored Core3 Portable, which is amazingly good port, though the controls take some getting used to without two analog sticks.

That aside, despite my intial reservations with fighting games, I got Fate/Unlimited Codes. It's a pretty good fighter, and once I got the hang of the nuances, I'm actually able to pull off combos easily, something that fighting game's insane button inptus has always eluded me. Of course, since it's based off of a manga/anime sorta thing, I read the manga online, but alas, it's incomplete, at least on the sight i frequent, which is rather diappointing, but at least now I'm not completely clueless about what the people are talking about in the game. I'd suggest it if you like fighters, it seems a decent fit for PSP. cant recall if it has online multiplayer or not though, I'll have to double check.

yeah, well, U.S. didn't get NAmco x Capcom either, guess it was a japanese exclusive. I hear that there is talk of making a PS2 emulator and making all PS2 games available on PSN. I am very interested in this, so I hope it happens, but who can say at this point. Your australia has cocme up sevral times in discussion lately, mainly concering the rabid censoring of games like L4D2. I really don't understand it, and it seems strang,e do they censor movies and stuff too???

Yeah, Super robot taisen does it, as well as the Fate/Unlimited Codes i jsut got, though there are subtitle boxes at the end of a fight when you win, so that's nice. I wodner if it's trully that difficult to translate something? I'm almsot compelled to learn japanese so i can check out all these games and manga that are otherwise inaccesible to me.

yup, I;m on chapter 3 of Disgaea 2. I can kinda see that Adell is starting to grow on Rozalin by this point. It's jsut so much more enjoyable a game, and even though IU don't have the surplus of cash like I do with Disgaea 3, at least I still have SOME money, isntead of being totally strapped for cash in DIsgaea 1 and not being able to upgrade anything. I thought that there was supposed to be some DLC for Disgaea 2, but maybe not, I dunno. You can get all the usuals in this version, laharl and flonne, and also Priere, and others i cant recall off the top of my head. oh yeah, raspberyl and Mao and Champloo, i remember those. not sure how you ge them though

Oh yeah, I got Uncharted 2 as well. If it doesn't get game of the year for 2009, then I think a gross injustice will have been done. The graphics are amazing, the gameplay intesne, the story excellent, the voice acting top-notch...everything about it is just simply superlative. It will be a game others are measured by for a long time, if yoou ask me.

yeah, i;'ve been trying to take care of old games and hold off on getting new ones, but Steam has pretty much thrown a wrench in this. I got the original splinter cell...Brothers in Arms Road to Hill 30, Brothers in Arms Earned in Blood, and msot itnerestignly S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl. That right there, is a different game, and I would suggest it to pretty much anybody.

I did finally beat Silent Hill 2 though...kinda...weird? I got to the top, and MAry was there, but I guess it was actually maria. Anyway, i won, and in the end, I saw James leaving the town through the graveyard with laura. it kinda sucked though, because somehow, i missed picking up the shotgun, so i was stuck with jsut the pistol and rifle.

Yup, it was a good deal. The only problem is, blackpowder is a horrificly corrosive stuff, so you have to clean the rifle religously every time you use it or it will rust like a scene from silent hill's netherworld. no wonder they switched to smokeless powder.

and, now that we're here, i'll prolly be striking down the forum soon. i feel a little sorry for it, but the original leader jsut kinda cast it off on me like a pair of dirty socks or something, so what was i supposed to do?

Cool, so you've figured out how to blog! It took me a while to figure out Gamespot, and even now it still does retarded things, like not registering spacebar presses. Unfortunately, GS only allows 1500 characters per comment, so i'll have to split this up considerably.

I think BlazBlue is fantastic, but if you didn't like Guilty Gear then i wouldn't suggest it. Rent it if you can and give it a go if anything.

The moment Modern Warfare 2 comes out, i'm betting that the majority of people will migrate there, and most other games will have a rather sparse online community, at least for a month or so. I'm unsure about getting it as of right now, but if i can find a cheap copy, i'll definately play. Hell, i'll just rent it if it's too expensive (They're selling it over the usual retail prices, at $120). It is quite sad, since games whose online multi is their main appeal won't last as long as games with storng single player campaigns. That's my concern with MAG, sure it's set for 256 players in a match, but what is the likelihood of it maintaining those numbers after a few weeks after release? I'd say slim. Resistance 2 has greatly diminished online players, but Uncharted 2 still has a lot.

I have mixed success online. I guess i have good days and bad days. Again, i do well in BlazBlue, provided i use my favourite character (bug-shooting blob Arakune) After over 350 mtches i have a 75% win ratio with him. In Resistance 2 i usually got into the top ten, maybe five if i had a good run with the fareye. Killzone 2 depends on the map. I suck at the smaller maps, but i can get into the top six or so on larger ones. As of right now, i'm doing fairly well in Uncharted 2, usually in the top four.

I'm almost there with Crisis Core. I'm keen to see this ending that everybody talks about, even though everybody knows how it's going to end. I was happy with Retribution, and i even got it online for a match! I lost hopelessly, and got maybe one kill, but it was still fun. I used infected mode, then used my PS3 controller to control it. Is there a way to play PSP through the PS3, on a TV? It woulld be so much easier to see things, but so far all i can do is control my PS3 with my PSP.

I've got Armoured Core Nexus on PS2 and i think it's great, if a little flawed. Creating a super robot piece by piece, adding on missiles and laser blades is awesome, but unfortunately most of the missions are quite weak, like 'Destroy X number of crates' or 'Destroy X number of planes'. Still fun, although most boss fights against other mechs come down to whoever can lock on with the most powerful weapon first, then barrage them to death.

I've heard of Fate/Unlimited, but i'm unsure if i have the right idea. Is it the one with the girl with the white hair? Or is this another one? I'll look into it, but i haven't seen a copy around anywhere. I hate it when manga/anime don't finish, or at least never seem to finish. My favourite manga 'Berserk' has slowed production down considerably because (according to the internet) the mangaka got tired of it and started playing Idolmaster on X360. If he doesn't finish it, i'll have to fly to Japan and beat some sense into him.

Australia's censorship board just hates Australia. IT comes down to one guy, Michael Atkinson who is completely against the R (18+) rating in games. The highest rating we have is MA (15+) for games, while R rated films are fine. All these morons use the same excuse 'what if a child plays the game?' which is a total copout. Regulation of such things is the parents responsibility. A kid younger than 15 can't buy MA games, nor can they watch R rated movies, so the only way they can access them is if their parents/guardians/creepy older friends buy them for them. The censorship board's attempt to cull this is to simply ban these things from getting into Australia, thereby pissing off everybody old enough to make their own decisions. It's aggravating since their decisions to censor are usually horrifically uneven, so violent games get through easily while other, comically violent games (like L4D2 from what i can tell) get the boot.

Learning Japanese looks to be horrifically painful. All their words have different meanings if they're read in different ways, so it would be horrifyngly difficult to come to grips with. I learnt Italian easily, since my family is mostly Italian, so i can at least understand it, although speaking is difficult since there are different ways that words can mean things.

Disgaea 2 is awesome. You get Etna as part of the story, while Laharl and Flonne are secret bosses. If you get to the World of Carnage you can get an extra three characters, including Axel. From what i've read, the PSP version has an Axel mode, similar to Etna mode in Disgaea, where you can play a story about Axel. It is much easier to get money and experience in Disgaea 2. There is only one level that had me stuck, one that involves a massive geo puzzle that had me in physical pain.

Uncharted 2 is completely awesome, and i'm glad you agree. I'm embarrassed to say that i've become somewhat of a trophy whoar and have gotten the platinum trophy for it. Thankfully this all works towards in-game cash so i've unlocked all single player skins and weapons and everything, and now i have plenty of cash to buy boosters in multi. I’ve been playing multi heaps now, and i really enjoy it, although i don’t like certain game modes. My favourite is plunder by far. If you're even online, we could play; co-op or competitive are both fine by me.

I've been wondering about Stalker for a while, since it's relatively cheap here. I've heard that it's slightly glitchy at points, but other than that it looks great. I might have to invest... It sounds like you got one of the normal/good endings in Silent Hill 2. I got the suicide ending, where James drives his car into the lake and drowns himself in grief because he killed Mary. Or something, it's been a while.

Blackpowder...sorry if i sound like a gun noob (which i am actually) but is that like gunpowder, used for when you shoot it? I honestly know nothing about firearms. Is it like in those old movies, where the rifles had a single shot,. and then you'd have to clear out the barrel, add in gunpowder, load and fire again, in the middle of a firefight? Anyways, i've been playing a lot of Demon's Souls recently, mainly because i've actually figured out some of the better game intricacies. I bought it a while ago, a Chinese copy which ensured that i would have to figure everything out by myself, no thanks to the internet (there weren't any reviews or guides when i got it) or the game manual (all in chinese). I played through it as a soldier with mixed difficulty, in around 30 hours, and now i;m making awesome progress as a Royal (fancy mage) Great game, but definately not for everyone. Most of the game is spent being dead.

There. That was relatively painless? 6 comments for over 7000 words. If only i could focus that into my writing...
