All About 1337kyosanim

    It's been a bit...

Haven't updated this in a little while, so I figure while I'm doing nothing I might as well give it a go.

It's obviously Super Bowl Sunday, and I don't really care. I was so depressed after the Patriots gave Indy the game last week I almost cried. I'll still watch the game to check out the commercials, but I could care less who wins tonight. Eff 'em. Eff 'em both, I say.

I'm borrowing my friend's Wii for a little while (he's got my 360). I'm digging it. I started out with Wii Sports, naturally, and then got into Twilight Princess. I think that the Gamespot staff was really harsh to Excite Truck and Red Steel. Excite Truck is easy to pick up, hard to master, and so much freaking fun. Red Steel takes a long time to figure out. A really long time to figure out, in fact, but once you do, it's actually a really fun shooter. The most pleasant surprise to me for the Wii is Trauma Center: Second Opinion. The story is so cheesy, but the gameplay is so addictive. I have to force myself to put it down sometimes. I think I'm going to buy Warioware. I don't own a Wii yet, but I totally plan on it as soon as I actually see one in a store.

I'm really behind on the PC end of things. I decided I'm done with PC gaming for awhile. It just costs too much to keep up with the new PC games. My PC was ill when I built it four years ago, and I've added RAM and updated the video card a couple of times, but now it's finally getting to the point where I need to upgrade the motherboard and processor and I just can't afford to do that. I also don't like the way Vista looks, although a lot of people are raving about it. I mean, Direct-X 10 looks to be capable of some crazy things, but I just wanna save my dough and get a Macbook Pro one of these days. I'll at least be able to play WoW on that. Speaking of which, I haven't gotten Burning Crusade yet. Ooops. I've been too busy working to really get into WoW right now. I'm thinking of putting my account on hold for a little bit since I haven't really been able to play in awhile.

Ah well, I need to get the motivation to change out of my PJ's (what? it's my only day off this week!) and go get some food and maybe a movie.

    So...until next time.

I think I might be in the running for best job ever.

Although I'm sure the entire Gamespot staff has a better job than me...EMT's and firefighters probably lead more fulfilling lives...and, let's face it, being a porn star has it's perks...I think I have the best job I could possibly have.

Here's a rundown of my day:

    - Wake up at 5:30 AM
    - Get to the shop at 6:30 AM
    - Get the equipment in the truck and hit the road by 6:45 AM
    - Stop at a Dunkin' Donuts along the way.
    - Get to the job site by 7:30 AM
    - Plug the truck in to ensure that the film developing chemicals stay at a good temperature.
    - Get the equipment from the truck to where ever the weld I need to X-ray is.
    - Clear the area of any people and X-ray the weld (takes about 20 minutes from set-up to the time I'm back in the truck developing the film)
    - Develop the film (usually takes about 10 minutes), by now it should be 8 AM
    - Tell the welders whether or not the weld passed (it usually does)
    - Give my time sheet to the foreman.
    - Sit in the truck and play my DS for anywhere from two to four hours. Usually, I get to play for three hours before they have another weld done
    - Shoot and develop another weld before lunch
    - Play my DS for another 3 hours (Usually 11 AM-2PM)
    - Shoot and develop another weld (Usually done by 2:30 PM)
    - Call the foreman to let him know how the welds came out, go back to the shop.
    - Get back to the shop at around 3PM, unload the truck and file the reports for the day
    - Leave shop by 3:30 PM, but saying I left at 4:30 PM, as I have a sweet arrangement with the foreman guaranteeing two hours of overtime everyday.
    - Be home by 4 PM.

Yeah, I love my job. I get paid to play my DS. I really need more games, though. I thought I had lost my copy of Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow, but I found it, so I've really gotten into it, but I really want to get Portrait of Ruin. I also want to get Final Fantasy III and a few other games that look really good. I've got to say that I really like my DS now. I got it but didn't really play it too much, but now I play it all the time. It's way better than the PSP, I think. Sure, the PSP can do more, but it can't compete to the DS when it comes to having as many quality games to play. The DS is also really inventive, and it can play any GBA game, giving it an absolutely immense library of quality games, that are still really, REALLY fun to play.

Anyway, I'm visiting my parents for the holidays. They live about an hour and a half away from me on the seacoast, so I always enjoy visiting them. My mom's taking care of things around the house right now, getting ready for tomorrow, when everyone comes over for dinner. I hope everyone has a great holiday!

    First Post (again)

So, the (again) in the topic is because yesterday at work I spent around two hours off and on typing this huge post chronicling my gaming career because I figured that was a good way to begin a gaming blog. Apparently the PC at the shop didn't think so. The browser crashed and so did my blog entry.

I really only typed so much at work to kill time, as I was the only one there and I had already finished everything I was supposed to do. It was kind of sad, though...me retelling 16 years of gaming from age 3-19 in graphic detail. It's probably for the best that it all went down the drain.

So, I've recently re-discovered Civ IV (I rock at segways...). I picked up the expansion for 20 bucks, and while I think it could've done more, I like it. I burnt away most of Sunday playing it. I also recently won an HDTV from my cable provider. I guess I entered some contest when I hooked my new place up with cable and internet service and my name got drawn. It's a 23" widescreen Phillips LCD, and it's far from being the best HDTV I've ever seen, but it was free, which makes it instantly awesome in my book, considering I didn't have an HDTV before. I'd also like to note that I was foolish for buying an Xbox 360 before getting an HDTV because it makes a world of difference. I didn't see what all the hoopla about Gears of War's graphics was until I played it on the new screen. My god...best looking game I've ever seen, console or PC.

I think it's amazing what game studios do with graphics. I remember playing Xbox for the first time and thinking, "there's no way it can get better than this...you kidding me?" and apparently I'm an imbecile.

Oh well, I'd type more but I feel like playing Project 8. I'm going to Connecticut tomorrow to work from 2:30PM-5AM, which will suck, but the overtime I'll get will be well worth it. We're obviously not getting back until Thursday, which I will probably spend most of sleeping. Friday I'm leaving for Canada for the weekend for my company's Christmas party in St. John, NB. This means no time to play games in the next few days, because I'll either be working or blitzed out of my mind, so we'll see when I update this blog again.

So to my audience, of which I'm sure consists purely of me whenever I go to check out my profile to see what I need to edit, I bid adieu.
