    Giving up on XCOM.

    XCOM...

    I decided on starting a second game after I got a game over on the last one after six hours of play. I
    Unfortunately, everything seems to go just as awful as before, even though I've read up on countless tips and tricks for the game online.

    I get extremely stressed out every single time I play it. I set the difficulty to Easy, followed advice from the interwebz (lots of satellites, armor and weapon upgrades as quickly as possible) and no rushing foward during battles. STILL, I get screwed over by the game!

    My soldiers STILL miss 9/10 times, even if it says there's a 90% chance of them hitting. The enemy on the other hand, STILL hit me nearly every single time and can shoot me from the other side of the map with no problems what-so-ever.

    I don't do this often, but to be quite honest; I give up. This is not fun. This is not entertaining. When something stresses me out after five minutes of play, I know it's not meant for me. I'll leave the game on the shelf for a few weeks I think. Give it a rest and then (maybe) come back to it.

    Oh and to answer the comments from my last blog, in case you read this.

    @EvilSelf
    Never got into the Dead space games. The first one kinda annoyed me, but maybe I should give the other games a chance.

    @KFHEWUI

    I actually quite like strategy games. This one, for the above mentioned reasons, just really pisses me off.

    Xcom...

    How anyone rated this more than 6/10 is beyond me. It's a mess so far. Terribly slow combat, crazy uneven difficulty levels and an awful story. I've been playing it for over five hours so far, but to be quite honest, I'm not sure I'll waste my time completing it. I'm having ZERO fun with this thing.

    Max Payne 3 & Sonic Generations.

    Just some thought on some games I've been playing lately.

    Max Payne 3.

    Just started playing Max Payne 3 the other day, and oh man is that game awesome. The atmosphere, the cutscenes, the story, the music (!), the gunplay. It's really really hard, but other than that I have zero issues with the game. Pure perfection as always when it comes to Rockstar Games.

    Sonic Generations.

    First of all, stay away from this garbage. I gave Sonic Unleashed a free pass back in the day and gave it a 6.5 even though it without a doubt had quite a few serious issues. I later decided to pick up Generations for cheap, hoping that most of these issues would've been fixed. I mean, the game had gotten great reviews and everything, right?Oh boy was I wrong!The game is pure garbage. None of the issues in Unleashed has been fixed. None of them!

    The camera is still awful.

    The game is still full of glitches (like getting stuck in the scenery and enemies inside boxes).

    The controls are still a damn nightmare.

    The story and voice acting is still there, even though it's not needed and is absolutely terrible.

    The game just plain sucks.

    Everytime I've tried to play the damn thing, I've gotten angry within mere minutes. The game is crazy frustrating with awful checkpoints, bad camera angels and bad bad bad. I could go on for pages about how crap this game is, but that would be a waste of everyone's time.

    This is also one of the very rare instances where I've rated the game on here without completing it. I think I'm about 75% though the game, but I just can't handle it anymore. It's so so bad. Wow...

    4.5/10. Pick up a good platformer like Rayman Origins instead.
