    Most of them are short, but those three long ones are going to just screw my whole boot camp trip up, at least, if I went right now.

    I got sick AGAIN. I'm crapping my guts out. At least I feel better than last time.

    My mom is REALLY sick, so maybe I gave it to her, then she gave it to me. Anyway, I might get Gears 2 this weekend, and I have Fable 2.

    So today I went to a Delayed Entry Program meeting. I have to go to one the second Saturday of each month until I leave the basic. I hope a position opens up for Basic in the next two months.

    I met the biggest nerd ever and we pretty much became friends instantly. He's the unberdork. He's so nerdy, he uses copper wire as shoelace, and says that "You wouldn't believe the number of times that comes in handy when I'm bridging circuits."

    So we started a joke about how I'll be carrying tampons as a Corpsman to stop bullet wounds from bleeding out(Yes, really, tampons, you shove em' in bullet wounds and it stops the bleeding mighty quick) and how he's carrying copper wire, and that went on all day long between me and other recruits. Everybody loves the fact that I'll be carrying tampons to stop people from bleeding out.

    I also met a "Nuke", or a person going in to be a Nuclear Physicist, and another guy who wants to be a SEAL. So I met interesting people, alright.

    We went to a restaurant and did some basic training like learning the Sailor's Creed, then hung out at an arcade for a few hours and bowled.

    That was my Saturday, which was forty times more productive than my average Saturday.

    So I finally completed MEPs and processing. I'm now awaiting a date between now and August 11th for shipping.

    I've got my Corpsman contract worked out and can leave when the earliest position is open.

    My A School is 14 weeks of medical training. I even get certified as an EMT. After that, I can get my NEC to be a Combat Corpsman and a member of Fleet Marine Force.

    I also got Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia.

    So I fought the system, and I won. I'm finally getting processed and signing the contract to be a Corpsman. My NEC after this(designation of what I do as a Corpsman) will hopefully be Combat Corpsman, but I don't know yet.

    After this I'll have an exact date of departure.

    After this, I can get everything down and set in stone.

    Wish me luck.

    Or don't, and be a wet blanket on my happy party.

    Dang, I don't think I could get sicker right now.

    I've used the crapper like 4 times today, and I've got a risen temperature. I think I have a fever. It pains me.

    It really sucks, but I took a shower and some PMs. I need to sleep this out, or at the very least no move much.

    On a more positive side my dad took me shooting today, we tried out our new 9mm and another one we sent in for repair. I'm getting better with shooting than I was when I first started. I'm best with our .45, and no one, not even my dad, can hit anything with or .40. It's evil I say!

    This might be my last weekend and my few remaining days as a civilian. On Tuesday, I finally get to go sign my contract and get sworn into the United States Navy. Then, I can get my military ID back.

    Still playing Fable 2, and now I really want Fallout 3 for some reason. A lot of people told me that I should try it and the problems I thought were in it are a lot better than I expected.

    And it is AWESOME. Coming from me, that's a lot for a Fable game, because I hate the first Fable with the white hot intensity of a bajillion suns. It's possibly the worst game I played last generation, but Fable II is the exact opposite. It's actually fun. Everything about this game is awesome. The graphics are the first to surpass Kameo in terms of art direction, but they retain a more realistic approach at the same time.

    It's eye meltingly beautiful. Far from the best thing about Fable II, because everything else is just as great. The combat and the environment based actions are fun to pull off. Push an enemy against a rock, and then finish him off by retapping the X button to drive your sword into his face. Push him over to a ledge, and then shove him over. Blast them with a fireball and then impale them once they're on the ground.

    The "no armor" trait is a lot better than the game's previous system, and no less complex than Oblivion's simplistic armor system. Perhaps, even more complex, despite you only having to upgrade one skillset, the clothing system is a lot better than Oblivion's system of armor.

    Your doggy is fun to play around with too. He jumps people who try to fight you, finds treasure, and barks when he finds enemies before you see them, to warn you. He can learn all sorts of tricks. For example, I taught him to cover his nose if I use the "fart" social interaction.

    This game is win. UBER WIN.

    So, today, I decided to perform an action that would only further show how incredibly stupid people have somehow become in such an incredibly short time.

    I went to the Myspace forums. Yes, I know, you're probably thinking:

    "But Bobby, those are the Myspace forums!"

    No milkshake Sherlock, I'm aware of that. But still, I was looking for other active boards to post on, and for some reason I thought there first. Bad call.


    I immediately went to the games forum, and clicked on the video games link. It was brought to my attention that a couple of people had started a topic where they discussed Fallout 3, a game I am honestly not in the least excited for. I explained my opinion, involving my dislike for the character development, AI, voice acting, and lack of depth compared to Morrowind, my all time favorite RPG.

    Immediately I was raped by an onslaught of merciless internet attacks performed by people who were ANGRY that someone did not share their same opinion. I was asked the oh so intelligent question, worded beautifully:

    "Are you -bleep-ing stupid?"

    Granted I am skipping out a part where I attempted to diffuse the situation by telling him it was my opinion, but no. He OWNED the game, so his opinion>my educated opinion, for some reason, even though the game has only been out one day and he couldn't have but a few hours in and maybe I'm just not as impressed by what I see as him but I must be wrong because HE OWNS THE GAME.

    Insulted by this man's insinuation of my ignorance, I again explained the game play videos and content I had seen did not impress me, as generally I expect enemies to be at least smarter than a pebble and perhaps on the same level as dog feces, probably just because I don't want enemies that STAND THERE WHILE I SHOOT THEM IN THE FACE DOING NOTHING TO FIND COVER AND ONLY LAZILY RETURNING THE CASUAL SHOT.

    I was assaulted by another user who stated "He just asked you a question!"

    Yes, asking a man if he is "bleeping stupid", is just a harmless question with no direct insult at my intelligence or ability to comprehend what I see.

    Again, I merely asserted that I held an educated opinion about Fallout 3 and did not think it was worth 60 dollars.

    I was then called a Halo 3 fanboy, what I can only assume is their way of insulting me by saying I do not enjoy games with some level of comprehensible depth. Because Fallout 3's weaksauce character interaction and development are deep enough to warrant them the right of such a claim against me and my preferences.

    The end of the idiot parade came when the man cursed some more and told me I basically couldn't hold an opinion and that I was stupid.

    Mind you, this was a twenty year old man on a Myspace forum, insulting an 18 year old over a video game. A perfect example of intellect and maturity!

    I learned much from my journey into the emptiness of the average person's head, and learned that if one ever disagrees, blacklisting and insulting a perfectly respectful poster is the ONLY option.

    Awesome game.

    I'm on Chapter 10 currently, with 8 hours in, on medium. Died a couple of times. Not really scary, but intense. The "scary" parts are your usual, "enemy jumps from ceiling" bits, but it can get tense when the lights cut out, but often, if you keep your wits about you and sweep the area, you know what's coming and how to deal with it. Still, being overwhelmed by some of the bigger ones is intense, and there's one that I like to call "Meathead" that can't die and follows you around. THAT is a little scary, because it can't die, and it can kill you.

    I'd say buy it, definitely worth at least one playthrough.

    So I've finally got my Rating for the Navy chosen out.

    I'm going to be a Navy HM, which stands for Hospital Corpsman.

    (Please do not use the above video as a criticism for the combat effectiveness of body armor.)

    Anyway, HMs go everywhere, which is the main reason I chose it. I can be attached to a Marine or Army unit and taken to a combat location, serve on a giant aircraft carrier or a submarine, or get a job anywhere. They're well appreciated in the Navy and Marines, and it's a very honorable position. It also puts me in the perfect spot to apply for the IA program, which gives me soldier training on par with the Army soldiers. So yeah, it seems pretty cool. I'm going to sign up in November hopefully, I need to call my recruiter tommorow.

    Corpsman

    I think I'll like this one better than MA, which is Master-At-Arms, which is Navy MP. I have more places to work and better experience and a field that I can still transfer over to civilian life if something very unfortunate should happen.

    I bought Watchmen at Barnes and Nobles, and it was worth every penny. I'd strongly advise everyone to pick up a copy. The story is incredible, and so are the characters. Also, there's very little action, so if you're expecting that sort of thing look elsewhere.

    I have twenty bucks to spend on this weekend while my parents are out of town. I'm thinking about getting COD4 again. I'd like to give the multiplayer another go, but I also wouldn't mind something else like TF2.

    Any suggestions?

    If cupcakes were currency, then the above statement would be correct. Unfortunately, we still use green paper as currency, so I am out of money.

    In the past couple of months I've bought:

    Twilight Princess

    Final Fantasy IV

    Rogue Galaxy

    A Wii

    Super Smash Bros. Brawl

    I have been playing Final Fantasy IV a lot and I'm currently at the part where you scale Golbez's tower. It is wicked hard in there, with those damn flame hounds more than willing to burn you a new ahole if you don't kill them fast enough. I've got 99 Hi potions, 99 potions, 50 Pheonix Downs, over 20 remedies, Rosa and Cecil's white magic, and Rydia's summons. See if that gets me to the top.

    Everyone has been saying that it's a hard game, but each time I get stuck I manage to figure out how to get around it, and then the game starts up as fresh as always. I'm eleven and a half hours in, and my characters are nearing level 40.

    I figured out how to beat Golbez in the Dwarven Castle, and now I'm just trying to scale the tower. I need to get those frozen weapons in the trapped chests, but that is a very hard thing to do.

    Aside from FF4, I've been playing TP and have gotten to Kakariko Village, but I'm stuck on the part where you've got to get the bugs in the burning mill. That's a serious pain in the butt, but I'll get them eventually. I haven't been playing Rogue Galaxy, I read some spoilers and lost interest, but I want to go back and play it again.

    As for Brawl, it's fun, but until I get the Wifi working I won't be playing it much. I only have my little brother to fight here, and my parents don't want to try a fighting game just yet.

    I'm going to sign up and finish all the preparations to join the Navy on October 1st. Apparently, me, with my 3.62 GPA and 85 ASVAB score, am not as "qualified" as the average American public school graduate, so I'm not on the top of their list of wanted sailors. Currently, I'm a "tier 2", but it only affects my signup time, not my job placement or opportunities.

    I may be going in as an E3 instead of an E1 after Basic Training if I help the recruiters with some things, so I can only hope I get that.

    So, that's everything that's been happening.

    Man, it's been awhile since I did a blog post that was even slightly long. Hope people actually read it.

    So, I bought Twilight Princess. Ocarina of Time is my absolute favorite game of all time, so this is very excting for me. I'm five hours in.


    It's great so far, but there are so many different things about it. Being the wolf and Midna change the experience completely. Fighting is a ton of fun, the Wii controls are perfectly implemented. It's a lot of fun to use the items or just your sword.

    Being the wolf, is, well, weird. I don't know why. It's a lot of fun, but it's so different. I don't know if it's an addition that should reappear later on in the series or simply be forgotten. It's better than the horrible sailing and ocean mechainics of the crapstain that was Windwaker, which, if you didn't know, I hate. With all my soul.

    I'm still playing FF4, I'm stuck on Golbez, right when you enter the underworld. He casts bio twice in one turn and kills Cecil and Teenaged Rydia(Yay she's back! Great character). How do I beat this guy?!
