  Over the weekend, we got a sneak peek of what some of the visual effects in Terminator Salvation will look like. I think it's important that they don't go too advanced, because, after all,  TerminatorSalvation happens before the critical event in each of the three previous films. That critical event is the deployment of a Terminator to stop John Connor.

  So while each Terminator was presumably more powerful as the first trilogy progressed, the events in the new movie take place before the T-800 . So it's actually got to be a little more lower rent than you might expect.

  I think Martin Laing and the creative team have done a great job with their concepts for the next movie, based on this concept art, which you can get almost anywhere now; we picked it up at Geek Tyrant.

  Vigilante 8 Landing on XLBA This Wednesday

  

  Microsoft has announced that Isopod Labs' Vigilante 8: Arcade will be released to the masses on the Xbox Live Arcade this coming Wednesday.

  Vigilante 8: Arcade will feature up to 8-player online action, along with five brand-new destruction arenas and eight customizable vehicles from the 1970s. The game will set you back just 800 Microoft points.

  I have a deep love for the ****c car combat games and I am hoping someone will bring the genre into the next-gen. Until that happens atleast we can enjoy some online Vigilante 8.

  Windows 7

  IGN's Gear site took a look at Windows 7, Microsoft's latest and greatest scheme to milk a few hundred dollars from your wallet:
  

  It's no secret that the PC world was less than blown away with Windows Vista. Buggy applications and other complications sent user's running back to XP, and for some even into the arms of a Mac. Microsoft has been teasing us for the past year with hints of the greatness to come with their new OS, Windows 7, highly touting the operating systems use of future-tech coolness like touch technology and advanced speech recognition. But will it be enough? Microsoft knows that its next OS is going to have to shock and awe consumers to convince them that Windows 7 is not just Vista: Redux.
