Untold Legends 2 is better than the first in some respects, but lacks some things that made the first especially great. Its like the developers really simplified a game that sometimes needed it and sometimes didn't. So, not only did they take away some things, but added some useless features, and some great ones. If they had simplified JUST what needed it, and added features that they NEEDED then it would be perfect. But in a lot of areas this is still a great game.

In the beginning of the game you choose your character from 5 different classes, each with its individual powers, weapons and armor. You get to customize things like your character's hair style, color, and skin color, but nothing deeper than that. Combat is very fun now thanks to lots of different attacks, not including your special powers. You get to do a normal attack by tapping the X button, and charged attack (which does more damage) by holding that same button, and another new interesting attack is the attack of opportunity, if you catch a character with a weapon stuck on the ground, or reloading they're firearm, then you can hold down the square button to do devastating damage. The game really lacks exploration and different tactics for your character, meaning, the areas aren't open with lots of dungeons and other linking areas, but rather each area is basically a dungeon (except for the towns) and you simply go from one place to the next. What I mean by different tactics for your character is the fact that you only get to use your classes specific weapons, so if my class mainly uses a two-handed ax, I can ONLY use other two-handed axes.

The items in this game have really been improved. Now some items are socketed and you can add one to two relics to them to improve them. Also, you can get great items without spending a long time on a quest, as they randomly drop.

The multiplayer is very fun, the co-op is a blast to play online, as well as the fast-paced adversarial combat. The game supports tons of different modes too.

The graphics are not as good as the first. The the special effects and lighting are great, as well as the enviornments, but the artistic design for the characters is awful. I guess they were trying to add they're own style to it, but it didn't work out as the models just look too whacky and out of proportion.

The sound effects in this game are top-notch, almost console-quality, and the newly added voice-overs are well-done, too. But the music still does not match what is going on in the game, and in some cases sounds like and orchestra just went insane and started playing everything at the same time with no order.

This game is addicting, there's no doubt about that. Soon after you start the game, even though the story is weak, you'll have a drive to get your character to the max level cap, and finish the game. Also the multiplayer can keep you hooked for a while.

I like the Untold Legends series, these games are the only good dungeon crawlers on a portable, but this game tries to improve itself so much that it makes itself less fun.
