great game!
you get some outstanding and outlandish videos as part of the story, they are funny and extremely well done.
i was surprised that this game was developed by Futuremark, yes the 3DMARK guys! :-D
Graphics - nice and coloful, the planets are very nicely rendered and the scenery actually moves as you play.
the enemies and objects look pretty good and all, but obviously you won't find any directx11 bells and whistles here.
Sound - great voice acting in the video, the effects ingame are okay'ish, the music however is gets boring pretty quick.
Gameplay - it's tower defense, so you have a base and you got weapons and other stuff you buy in order to protect your base from the damn aliens, enemies are varied, some very tough, some very fast, some weak.
as you progress you get upgrades to kill enemies faster or do more damage, you also get new weapons by research, game is very simple only a matter of a few clicks but the enemies are quite tough, the game is very addictive and frustrating. good stuff.
CONCLUSION
the little touches in this game are very evident, the developers put lots of effort in it.
indeed the game oozes with class, gameplay wise it plays like most tower defense and its good fun, you can pick it up and play at any time, but it's the addition of Retro style Sci-Fi full motion videos (50s style) that wins the cake and makes it worth the price alone.
so a must buy for all tower defense fans and if you're not a fan of these games, this would be the perfect title to introduce you to the genre!
