UT=5 Links to a Frag-fest
The game begins with an epic Intro & epic music & after that you create a profile & start the Deathmatch Challenge which has 15 Rounds or something like that.After that you continue with Domination, Capture the Flag, Assault & Challenge, Challenge which is basically the same thing with Deathmatch.Each challenge starts with a tutorial.There is a Room of Throphies & 5 Pedestals await the 5 Prizes to stand on.My favourite challenge is clearly Assault because you have some clear objectives where you have to first Destroy a base in a first match & then Defend it in the 2nd it looks somehow like a Single-Player experience but it's still a Frag-Fest, a somehow disguised path to Mindless Killing.
UT is slightly better than Q3 because it has more variety but Q3 has a better, more fluid gameplay.If i would have to choose 1 of this 2...ahh i doesn't matter it's still the same thing.
The weapons in UT are original & all of them have alternate fire which Q3 lacks.The Redeemer is the equivalent of the BFG9k from DOOM & Quake 2 & the Impact Hammer also has a corepondent-the Drill Weapon in Bioshock 2, both beeing melle weapons for close combat.My favourite weapons are the Flak Cannon which is awesomely cool, the Minigun & the Sniper.My least favourite weapons are the AMD ShockRifle & BioRifle.There are also power-ups to be picked up like the AntiGravity Boots & Big Keg 'O Health which gives you 99+ to life enabling you to have a maximum health of 199+ points & Armors with Tight pads & damage amplifiers(which are obviously the equivalent of the Quad Damage) & so on.The action takes place in space on orbit or on planets, indoors or outdoors.In space outdoors you can see Moving Planets in the background which is awesome.The final round of the game takes place on a Space Ship where you have acces outside it & it moves with blazing fast speed.You have only 1 opponent, the most formidable bot of the game.UT has a quite unique feature in the gameplay, the sideways jump that helps you avoid the rockets & stuff like that by moving fast out of their path.The soundtrack rocks & the graphics are outdated & it also has bad language-you know what i mean.
Bottom Line:
This is the most complete frag-fest ever created along with UT 2004 but it's not the most complete FPS.Where is the Single-Player Campaign with clear objectives & stuff like that?In other words, it's just a Gladiator Game.
