Yeah I'd be fine with a whole other story arc. Maybe something set hundreds of years in the future or even something that goes back farther than BBS. What if they did a game about the days before BBS when there were lots of Keyblade wielders?

Didn't Nomura say in an interview that from BBS - KHIII it's the "Xehenhort Saga" and after KH3 he's making another saga

Nomura did say the series wouldn't end with KH3, just the end of the Xehanort saga, but did say Sora would be the main character until it ended. IMO, the next saga should have more FF characters, including Noctis. By time Versus 13 comes out, the KH saga might be announced lol

Even if they didn't want to make a game before BBS (though I don't get why the heck not) they could still do the whole large amount of Keyblade Wielders thing. Instead of going hundreds of years in the past, they could just do hundreds of years in the future. Like the whole New Jedi Order type thing.

Yeah the issue is (unfortunately) the focus of the game is on "friendship" and not "love." Love has rarely *ever* been expressed and I'm not sure Nomura will start now. A shame, 'cause I'd love to see it happen.
