I've been quite swamped lately to host any game nights or rally the editors to play.

I'd like to bring back the bi-weekly game nights again.

We have a couple of editors who are interested in having a Halo Reach game night, so that will likely be held next Wednesday October 13.

Some of the dates that we might be considering include:

Skipping Halloween week because there might be numerous Halloween parties taking away player attendance
November 10
Skipping Thanksgiving week
December 1
December 15

If you have any other games suggestions for future game nights feel free to share them!

General information about making suggestions:

We are currently using the bi-weekly game night schedule so there might only be 2 games played per month. Make your game recommendations count.

- Multiplayer required for all game nights so please make sure it's easy enough for newer players to play the game if they happen to rent it for this occasion. If it takes more than 15 minutes to get a new player to start this delays the times we get to play the game (unlocking multiplayer, registering multiplayer account, downloading patched, etc). If the game is too awesome to pass up be upfront with the time it takes to get a new player ready to play so we can alert them about this ahead of time.

- The hype over the game's multiplayer should be heavily considered because we want enough GameSpotters to play with. When the game is released check the News page under the game charts (bottom of the page) to see if there have been enough sales and rentals for the game.

- Note that it will be important to have the staff communication through voice chat so please consider games or console platform/PC capabilities. We might consider third party voice chat, but this does make things more complicated when players show up late without planning for it.

- While we might have our more favorite games, be sure to also include anticipated multiplayer games and the month they are likely to be released.

- On last note, rhythm games will not be considered as this would require staff to leave our desks and join the studio, which is not available for us until later in the day. Therefore, games like RockBand and Guitar Hero will not be considered for future game nights.

Game suggestions mentioned so far (some games from original 2010 game suggestion thread):

- Starcraft 2
- Tatsunoko vs. Capcom (wii)
- Gran Turismo 5 (once released)
- League of Legends (free-to-play PC game)
- Medal of Honor
- Call of Duty Black Ops
- Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood

I'll join for Reach. Will be able to join for Medal of Honor (PS3), Black Ops (360), and Assassins Creed Brotherhood (360) if we did those. As for as I know, those are the only real MP titles I will be getting, until Feburary and March when I get the next Dawn of War 2 Expansion and the new Ghost Recon.

Also, for PC users, we never did have a Starcraft 2 night. Isn't Goldeneye coming out this year for Wii owners? Might be a good one to play.

:
(However I don't know how MMOs work as far as getting together with friends)

Everyone would have to have their character on the same server for every MMO I've played. If that was done (no chance everyone would be on the same) then it would just be as easy as sending a friend request and meeting somewhere.

Cool I'll stick with AC: Brotherhood than as my suggestion. Thanks.

Would love to do a Halo: Reach game night! I'd also be intersted in Black Ops, though reviews will sway me either way over that.

The possibility of GT5 on Nov 10 is gone because they have moved it back.

It's only four players but it could be fun, I only played it once, long time to find a game and load but fun. I think there are better options with Medal of Honor, Call of Duty, and Assassins Creed Brotherhood though.

I totally forgot Dead Rising 2 had a multiplayer mode so I was thinking "co-op doesn't support 4 players!" But I would have to agree with Legolas; there are better options.

Im afraid legolas is correct on this one, doing DR2 online would be stupid. Perhaps doing L4D with the new sacrifice thing would be cool.

I somehow managed to beat the other three players my first time trying it. The first event I got was one to crush zombies with a vehicle and spray their blood in some thing when it opens it's mouth, wasn't explained well so I did horrible. Then I did that one where you toss zombies into a net with the moose helmet and took second. The third events was one where you need to spear falling zombies, you get bonus points if multiple people try to spear the same one and you win a mini game where you push a sequence of buttons, the fastest person gets bonus points. I don't think I've been as happy playing a game in months then when I beat all three people in one of the spear battles and saw my guy push, hit, and kick all three of them away. Last event is always the chainsaw bikes, took first in that since I knew to take my time and aim for the bonus point zombies.

Which events did you get? I know there are seven so I still never saw three of them.

I like the idea of playing an old game, something like a XBLA game or Burnout Paradise. Jody if we do play Burnout, you can't go crazy looking for billboards!  You remember what happened last time

Up for games night, although my games collection is limited (Wii and Xbox).

What's the best way of keeping in touch with what the arrangements are: I'd suggest an email sign up list.  Checking forums is a bit too clunky for an old timer like me.
