So as we all know the PS:VITA is going to be getting a Silent Hill game. So I created a poll so I can get an idea on what all you fine people of this union think about it . As for me i'm not a big fan of how this is looking. Before you all start thinking i'm automatically against it simply because it's a spin-off, or not a survival horror; this is not the case. I mean i'm all for the series trying to branch off into some different things in the way Downpour is. But for me this game just looks completely uninspired and just a way for Konami to milk more money from the Silent Hill fans. It looks like it has been slapped together in 5 minutes just so they can say they have a title on the new PlayStation Vita.

I just hope Konami doesn't start pushing the series into redundancy through endless spin-off's in the future. I am pretty sure you'll all be with me when I say we don't want to see a SH based competitive multi-player game in the future, where everyone runs about as Pyramid head slashing each other apart. For me its hard enough to actually want to go and pick up a PS VITA anyway, with the heafty price tag; and ridiculous prices for memory sticks.

Book of Memories is what happens when a series is held hostage by a bunch of incompetent fools. It has no right whatsoever to exist. We must burn it as a witch.

Can't really vote on this as I don't have a Vita and don't intend on getting one unless it brings out a few games that interest me.

Basically, you know it's an Atlus game if in your first encounter in a new area, you get ambushed by a group of enemies who go first and eliminate your entire party before you get your first turn. If Atlus were as famous as Nintendo, this trope would probably be called "Atlus Hard" instead.

eBay evaluations : "will buy again, A+++++++++" is the minimum expected if the seller didn't abduct your family and mail them back to you one piece at a time.

It's not canonical, it's gameplay is completely counter to the expectations of those who would be interested in buying a game with Silent Hill in the title, and it's being released on a platform that offers limited sales potential due to it being so early in it's lifespan.. I don't understand why Konami thinks it is a good idea to sink time and money into this project, especially when coming off two higher profile releases that really came off as needing the extra resources.

Konami released a few more screenshots during Gamers Night 2012.. if you covered the title I can't imagine many would be able to guess that these are from a Silent Hill game.

Well, I'll admit it, I'm almost for suregetting it.

I have a Vita, love it and want more games to play on it. Regardless of whether or not it's going to be a whollyworthy spin-off to my favorite franchise of all time (for obvious reasons, the likelihood of that seems... slim), I'm still expecting an entertaining game that will nicely fill a void in my Vita library with just enough Silent Hill flavor to keep me from going apesh*t about it bearing the title.

I really hope there's a demo.

Whether from a horror fan or Vita owner's point of view, I can certainly understand why one would be compelled to still pick it up.. there hasn't exactly been a wide array of options to choose from lately.

For me, early impressions have left too much of a generic vibe to expect too much purely from a gameplay perspective.. but I suppose I've come across bigger surprises if the end product proves otherwise. If Konami is going to insist on serving up an insult to the tradition of the series hopefully it can at the very least be a competently developed one.

I played the demo on Tuesday. Obviously a total travesty in terms of a Silent Hill game, but as a dungeon crawler I thought it was pretty neat really. The horror aesthetic made it more appealing to me than the typical fantasy setting most dungeon crawlers have (probably why I love The Binding of Isaac so much) and it's got an absolute sh*t load of weapons and artifacts to find.

I think it would be pretty fun to go through in co-op too, as blasphemous as that is.

Probably opt for a used copy, but I do still plan on getting it.

Some reviews thus far: IGN: 6 out of 10, Joystiq: 3 out of 5, Ripten: 6 out of 10

*More reviews: Gamespot: 6 out of 10, Destructoid: 6.5 out of 10, Playstation Official Magazine UK: 5 out of 10

A common theme I keep seeing is that despite some of the reviewers wanting to like it more than they did some avoidable design flaws, excessive repetition and obnoxious difficulty spikes held it back.
