The begining of the Uncharted series shows what the Playstation 3 can do.

Gameplay:

After years of saying that I cannot aim for shit with a console controller, Uncharted: Drakes Fortune surprised me quite a bit. The gun-play flow very smoothly and it is very easy to aim; I was getting head-shots left and right. Being easy to aim a gun, does not mean the game has any challenge to it however. Gun battles with pirates and mercs can be very hard and sometimes frustrating. They surround and flank you from all sides (this shows good AI) and can take a few tries to get them all and know the environment

Platforming is fun, yet can be frustrating if you try to just rush through it. If you don't know the area you're bound to repeat a section many times. Good advice would be to take your time and look to where you're jumping too. Some ledges may look tempting but Drake sometimes cannot grab hold of them.

The overall game was short but blast to go through a nice Indiana Jones style adventure with Nathan Drake.

Graphics:
---9/10

Ugly while standing three feet away form a large Television, but from afar on a soft couch, the game looks incredibly well. Textures look great and shadows are not very pixelated, they actually look pretty smooth, a nice surprise in games. The overall great look of the game throws some blows at performance however; no lag was detectable but Vertical sync was off in this game causing Uncharted to have some mild screen tearing (some-what camouflaged by motion blur).

Overall:
---8.5/10

Uncharted: Drakes Fortune is a strong contender in the Uncharted series and the long list of PlayStation Exclusives. But my inner PC fanboyism really wishes this game got released into the realm of computers so that its graphical beauty could be shown to its full potential. ;)
