- "Just plain fun"
Alright Uncharted 3: Drakes Deception is finally here and the wait was well worth it. The graphics are just phenomenal because you can see every little last detail on the characters, building structures, and weapons. Everything is clear and well designed. The feel is there for any gamer, the controls are just simplistic enough for anyone to pickup. There isn't any funky glitchy control problems in any aspect. The game play is great and very addictive, however not enough was added from Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. It is pretty much just a different story but same weapons, characters, and task. The puzzles are different which is an obvious must otherwise it would be entirely the same. The story as with the past two games is semi-hard to follow because it is mostly coming from dialogue, although at the beginning you do play a flashback. There is no side videos of past events or text documents. One element that could be added is a Metal Gear Solid sort of explanation. Having a mix of dialogue, side videos, and cut scenes makes for a clearer story. All in all the story is still incredibly alluring, it is like a good book, it keeps you coming back for more until you're finished. Through playing I have seen some glitches as far as gripping and catching ledges go. Be prepared to fall to an untimely demise on several occasions that just don't seem to be appropriate or feel that you should have caught the ledge. Also one of the puzzles has a very poor explanation and you will sit for awhile trying to wrap your head around it. The directions for puzzles could use a little clarifying but not too much because that's exactly what makes it a puzzle. One question I had was what is up with offering to show the solution after not getting it for so long? That seems a little unprofessional. If you're looking for a game to keep you entertained and is worth the money my advice is to grab this game, although it has its fair share of small problems its nothing that is going to drive you crazy. Uncharted 3: Drakes Deception although very similar to its previous installations is still a very solid sequel.
