The third installment bring us back for another adventure, however it doesn't reach the standard set by Among Thieves.

User Rating: 8 | Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception PS3
It's a solid game, it truly is. Nathan Drake and his trusted father-figure companion Victor Sullivan are back for another action packed duo.

I didn't believe it was possible to beat Uncharted 2 visuals but the third installment in the series truly pushes PlayStation 3 even further. The game does look absolutely stunning, from the environment to further improved character details.

Hand to hand combat had also been majorly updated. It feels more natural and actually offers some very fun and trilling moments. You can now use the object around you for some very cool opportunity dispatching your enemies.

The improvements stop there however. While by no means is the story bad, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves did set up some very high standards that I believe Drake's Fortune didn't meet.
This time around we will explore Nathan and Sullivan's original back story. How they first met and the meaning of the golden ring that Nathan carries around his neck.

You will also get a chance to play as young Nate who surprisingly still has his adult-like strong platforming skills. ;)

Overall it's a ok story but it could had been fleshed out better.

The gameplay and shooting mechanics are little awkward, it doesn't feel as smooth or accurate as Uncharted 2 did, Nathan also seems to move around the environment more clumsy, fast and little unrealistic compared to both previous installments.
It almost feels like Naughty Dog just increased the pace of the game forgetting that Nate isn't a super hero and he doesn't posses Batman or Superman abilities. Odd decision when you take into the account how much attention and detail went into Uncharted 1 and 2 trying to make Drake as realistic and fluid as possible.

The multiplayer is back and it's unfortunately also plagued with similar issues. The shooting seems inaccurate and the platforming is very fast paced, taking away the fluidity of the previous game. It's not bad but it isn't as good as it should had been.

Overall, it's a solid third entrance to the excellent series but it's a letdown on few levels.
It's worth playing but I hope if we see another Nathan Drake adventure that the issues present in this game will be ironed out. Look no further then Among Thieves for guidance.

Solid entrance but don't except Uncharted 2 quality.
