Uncharted 2 is a worthy sequel to the first Uncharted, and improves on it in almost every way.
while the first game was great in its own right, Uncharted 2 takes everything that was good about the first game and expands on it greatly. this game has very few flaws of its own and is a worthy addition to any game library
Story - Once again, Nathan Drake is on a quest for treasure, this time he is after a stone which was said to grant great powers to those who possess it. all would have been easy, if not for a certain man named Zoran Lazarević, who is also after the stone, though has the slight advantage of having his own army, Drake has to get to that stone before Lazarevic gains control of the stone. During the journey, Drake will co-operate with various characters such as Chloe Frazer and the returning Victor Sullivan, as well as other various characters who make an appearance. The story itself isnt amazing by any means, but for the genre, its a great story that will do the game justice. In all honesty, this game has a better story then most other games in general, regardless of the genre.
Gameplay - The Gameplay is very similar to that in the first game, in that its a mix of tomb raider and the Prince of Persia Series. there is plenty of climbing, jumping and other general platfoming elements in the game, more so then the first game, and overall its very fun. there are also various puzzle elements in the game, though they are less prominant then in other similar games such as Tomb Raider .added to those are various shooting elements in which you fight your enemies using weapons you can find scattered around. There isnt a massive variety of weapons, though you will never feel that there is a lack of them either. Uncharted manages to keep things fresh by giving you a variety of objectives and styles of platforming. one mission forces you to flee a helicopter, another is on top of a moving train. its these kind things that lifts Uncharted 2 to be better then the great majority of games released currently.
Graphics and Sound - Graphically Uncharted is incredible, this is Perhaps one of the best looking games ever seen on a console, the style is similar to that of the first game but the graphics have been enhanced greatly. Anything that might be written here would not do the graphics justice. on top of that, there are a very varied selection of locals in the game, much more then the first game. from the jungle, to a frozen mountain and a whole range of other incredilbe locals, makes Uncharted 2 a graphical showpiece for the Playstation 3. From a sound perspective, its not amazing, but the music is very good, and helps to convey the locals and atmosphere of the scene well. sound effects are well done and the voice acting is as good as the first game, which is excellent. overall Uncharted 2 is a winner on the presentation front.
In conclusion, Uncharted 2 is a must play for pretty much anyone who owns a PS3, its got a great story, which complements the gameplay. the gameplay itself is great and sets the bar higher for games of this genre, and it looks and sounds fantastic. Uncharted 2 is already my favourite PS3 game of this year and many others will agree, so I can fully recommend this game to anyone with a PS3.
