Darned if you do, darned if you don't.
This game strikes gold on all of the proper parts for a revolutionary title: fun, humor, extras, compatibility [w/ friends], and overall value. And believe me, there's plenty of all of these to be found in this game...and then some.
THE GOOD
- Diverse cast of characters, forgotten or famous
- Impressive comic book format in fights
- Very, VERY funny
- Screen-filling action is worth the tension
- Delightful extras like voice samples and fighter bios
- Revives swell style and animations from the original title
- Mission mode's better half is a somewhat helpful tutorial mode
THE BAD
- No replay support---again
- Missions can sometimes get quite chaotic, going automatically from ground combos to air juggles
- Galactus is practically unbeatable
- D-listed fighters make for seemingly bad picks, like She-Hulk and M.O.D.O.K.
- Confusing control system compared to games like STREET FIGHTER
Gameplay: 9/10

FINAL SCORE: 46/50 (A, respectively)
Funny, entertaining, and packed with more than your money's worth, definitely I think that UMvC3 is among one of the best fighters of '11.
