EA has released a new version of the game, which is actually not much of a new version at all. No significant changes are gained from this game as all the features can still be had from the previous release "Age of Shadows". The benefit however, is found in Buddy Registration Codes, an extra gift code, etc. This release is mostly a way to get current players to pay more money and provide new codes for friends to invite their friends to play. However, that said, the game still is unique in the area of gameplay. The graphics and sound are still much behind the rest of the industry. However, the community value and gameplay is still worth the time. It is as easy as it has ever been for a new player to enter the gaming world. And now, with the news of UXO being cancelled, there is some promise for UO - as many of the developers will now be moved to the UO team. Purchasing the 7th Anniversary Edition, then, may be an investment in the future, for hopes that the game will be receiving some great additions soon.
