UFC 2010 is the newest edition to the UFC gaming franchise. The first thing you will notice while laying is a lot of action changes as well as skill sets.

The stand up is more fluid and allows for more moves and the ability to dodge and weave from the opponents attacks by holding the left bumper and double tapping the L stick.
The next part of the stand up is the ability for some fighters to switch between north and southpaw, by pushing in on the L stick, just like a real fighter would do. Online stand up is a lot better than the previous as you wont find yourself being kicked/punched over and over in the body preventing you from moving. The stand up additions and changes is an A+ all around and brings you a lot more options and ability's to use against your opponent.

The ground game is one to be trifled with in this addition. The lack of sweeps and almost impossible transitions make the game feel as if you are two oiled up men rolling around engaging in a wired mating ritual often then not leaving the mounted individual to be pummeled by his/her opponent. If you were semi good with transitioning and holding your opponent on the ground in UFC 2009 you will find it a lot harder in UFC 2010 to do the same or even to take advantage of someone who is not good at the ground game. Personally, I used to love the ground game in UFC 2009 often then not taking my online or even computer opponent to the ground using transitions, submissions and just plain old face smashing. in UFC 2010 myself, and others alike, find it hard to do, if you are not the initiating individual, to even remotely try to gain the top advantage.

The skill system in single player is an alright addition but if you find yourself wanting to build skill points over cardio, strength, etc, you will find if you miss some training before a fight you lose most if not all of the points you spent having to start over from 0 leaving you pissed off and wondering why they even changed the system. The fight camps are a great change and awesome idea allowing you to work on single moves at a time instead of 10 different ones creating an easy learning curve but, more often then not your training partner will keep you from even being able to pull off the move (ground game) by holding you down or keeping you in the clinch.

UFC 2010 is a mediocre addition and hopefully with UFC 2011 they will keep the UFC 2010 stand up and go back to the UFC 2009 ground game / skill set.
