UEFA Euro 2004 is only about the European Championships but it is still a really fun game.

My reviews are pretty simple really. I will write a short paragraph about the Gameplay, Graphics, Sound and Value of the game. I will then add a small conclusion at the end of the review.

my review of UEFA EURO 2004 for the sony playstation 2

Gameplay - The gameplay is different from the yearly FIFA games which isn't better but is very good and very important to the game because it makes it a little different from the yearly EA Sports FIFA games. The movement of the ball is actually better in this game which makes it alot easier. There are quite a few additons to the Gameplay in UEFA Euro 2004 including the all new morale meter. The morale meter determines whether your players are happy or not. If they are performing bad or not getting game time then they will have a low morale which will effect the way they play. You can get a high morale by constantly playing players in their favourite position and for them to play well in that position. Personal things also get in the way of players morale. If their club team suffers a loss or anything like that then their morale will drop and vice versa if their club team wins matches.

Gameplay options wise their aren't too many but their are a couple of neat little things that you can mess around with. You can now play a penalty shoot-out straight away without actually playing a match first. There is also a cool fantasy mode which is cool for when you want to play against a friend. You basically just pick your European XI.

Graphics - Compared to other FIFA games the graphics in UEFA Euro 2004 are a little dissapointing. But without comparing you would say the graohics are very good. The player faces are one of the biggest things about sports games and this game seems not quite on par to other sports games, especially other sports games from EA Sports. Another neat little addition is the skill moves like nutmegs and flicks. I think the animation in this is very good and very detailed.

Sound -
Glitterati: Do You Love Yourself

Parva: Panic Attack

Span: Baby's Come Back

Dave Clarke: Way of Life

Boxer Rebellion: Watermelon

The Walls: Bright and Shining Sun

Junkie XL: Billy Club

Nelly Furtado: Forca

Stakka Bo: Here We Go

Freq Nasty: Come Let Me Know

Minus: The Long Face

They are the songs from the UEFA Euro 2004 soundtrack. Not very impressive to be quite honest. FIFA games are known for having different soundtracks and normally they are still very good but I think that the soundtrack is disspointing. While playing the game the Sound is very impressive as per usual. The commentary is very nicely done.

Value - You are not likely to spend more time on this game than FIFA games because of the lack of gameplay options and the fact that it only includes International teams. But it is still a worth while edition to the collection that should keep you entertained for a while.

Conclusion - If you are a die-hard football fan then it's a no brainer to get this game but if your just a casual gamer that is interested in trying a soccer game then I recommend that you either get one of the FIFA or PES games.

A great game!
