After a disappointing opening effort this sophomore title was quickly overlooked by many - Too bad, as fun is to be had!

I owned the 1st title and didn't play it much because it was "off" from the moment I hit the start button; however I saw some interesting previews for the 2nd entry, Two Worlds II, and couldn't help myself in taking a chance....

....As a result, I was pleasantly surprised! I was immediately sucked-into the world as the initial escape senario immediately pulled me in. Throughout my initial several hours of game play, I continued to explore this visually stunning world. The story was, well, ok, but the environments, treasure hunting, and potential possibilities kept me going and looking for more.

As I continued to play, I was excited and completely immersed into this adventurous world with countless side missions and areas to explore. The game, quite simply for me, was just plain fun. Combat can come-off as button mashing but also has depth, story doesn't take itself too seriously as the scenario's contain some clever humor, and overall the title is definitely long enough to get your money's worth.

Why not even a higher score? Well, between my initial excitement and exploration, the prologue and chapter one took me quite a chunk of time to get through and it was quite a ride! Chapter two however, was a bit of a drag, but then in Chapters three & four things picked back-up, but felt a bit rushed, incomplete, and still not as fleshed-out as the opening chapters. Technically, there was some glitches, frame rate issues, and opportunities to improve the menus, but overall, the customization of the character, differing environments, and endless number & variety of side quests kept me coming back for more for several weeks.

In the end, I would say that Two Worlds II doesn't come without it's issues and opportunities, but I had a lot more fun than I thought I would! I recommend this title to anyone who enjoys getting sucked into a gaming world or who enjoys mid evil RPGs. It's a great effort with much fun and exploration to be had - don't let the first title sway you away!
