TWISTED METAL 4 REVIEW:

User Rating: 6.5 | Twisted Metal 4 PS
Summary;
Twisted Metal 4 was released in 1999 by 989 studios. This game was not designed by Twisted Metal's original creators which is why Twisted Metals main fan site is against people who love the games.

Plot:
Sweet Tooth becomes envy one year around Twisted Metal time and decides that he should be the master of Twisted Metal. He then throws Calypso out of his building and steals his ring (which supposedly gives the master of Twisted Metal their powers, so my first complaint is why have Minion in the game when they completely erased his story line). Sweet Tooth now has the competition and invites different drivers to join in.

Game play
One thing I do not like about the controls in this game is that you have to press X to accelerate your vehicle, in the original Twisted Metals all you had to do was press the arrow buttons, in this game you have to use the arrow buttons to turn around. Otherwise the game play is really good. Another problem is that the glitches are awful, if you hate glitches get Twisted Metal 2. The weapons are pretty nice and they added some new ones in. A feature that I enjoyed is that there is a boss in every stage, but a problem with that is some of the bosses are way too easy, the only bosses with real challenge are the characters Moon Buggy, Minion and Sweet Tooth. Speaking of Sweet Tooth, he is cheap! His special will kill you with one hit (if your vehicle has a lot of armor, 2 hits) the only good part about sweet tooth is that if your friend really sucks Sweet Tooth is the best character to play as. The controls are fairly simple and the graphics aren't bad. The car selection is awesome and even features old Twisted Metal favorites (that is if you unlock them) and the coolest thing is that you can play as Calypso. The people are Pizza boy (Pizza delivery boy) Trash Man (Garbage Truck) Quatro (hover car) The Joneses (Station Wagon) Goggle Eyes (bug killer van) Calypso (Nuke truck) Orbital (sports car) Captain Grimm (Pirate Car) Micro blast (Toy Car) Mr. Zombie (Rob Zombie's Dragula) Meter Maid (Meter Car) General Warthog (World War 1 Tank) Drag Queen (Normal Car).

Good
- You can unlock all bosses in the game either by cheat codes or by beating the game.
- You can create your own car! This is the only game you can do that, and for you Evil Dead lovers you can have your driver say "Hail to the king baby" in a Bruce Campbell voice after shooting your special.
- The stages are pretty sweet, some of them are extras not in tournament mode. But my favorites are Sweet Tooth's carnival and bedroom.

Bad

- Like I said the glitches suck. If you drive up by a building, your probably going to be attached to it, and you will be driving sideways a lot.
- The create a car feature really lacks choices, you can choose the size of your car (small medium and large) and then you choose a car coating (only 3 are available) then you choose your special move (only 4 are available) but then there are about 10-20 lines your person can say after shooting the special. Why couldn't they just get rid of some audio clips and put in more car features
- This game is just not as fun as the original Twisted Metal's to me, if you had to choose only one twisted metal game, I'd say either Black or 2.

Over all this game gets a 65% or a 6.5 out of 10

I would recommend this game to anyone, but not to most Twisted Metal fans. You can get this game brand new on amazon.com for only 11 bucks.
