User Rating: 9.4 | Twisted Metal World Tour PS
Twisted Metal is a great example of a sequel done right. Those who loved twisted metal one or thought it was a neat idea would agree if playing part two! It has better music, graphics, and you can see more detail because of better lighting which changes what the first one wanted to achieve. Twisted Metal is basically a competition of combatants who have altered there car with mods such as missles and machine guns to kill other opponents cars to win the ultimate prize which is granted by the person organizing this whole shebang named Calypso who will grant one wish to come true for the winner, so they can have anything they want. Each combatant takes a car from usually there line of work, ie..Mortician Hearse, Police officer police car, and so forth. They each have special weapons that are unique and car's vary in handling, special power, speed and what not. The object kill everyone else in the city till your car is the last driving. The boards go around the world in this one, new ones such as Paris France where you can blow up the Eiffel Tower, Hong Kong Tokyo, New York Rooftops, and other famous locations are your battlefield. They are all pretty nice and unique from one another so the play experience changes drastically in challenge and fun from board to board. There are over 10 selectable combatants to duel it out with and each good in a way. The graphics for each arena are well suited and special moves come in very handy so you can do alot in every board which is very cool. aside from the first TM, this one is much brighter oppose to it's predecessor which was dark, and gritty which was good but this one is just better. health has been changed from annoying tables you have to ride up on to a simple icon you can pick up so you can keep going which is a plus and alot of new weapons have been added. The sound is a good original soundtrack and fits every board, nothing amazing but it does enhance the feel of gameplay and makes you want to actually listen to background music this time. You can go head to head with the CPU or go co-op through the levels which is very fun too. This games is really a challenge if you turn the difficulty up but not impossible like some games, but you'll have to be on your toes for Mid-bosses such as Minion and the last boss Dark Tooth which is assumed to have some relation to one of the selectable characters, with the help of a code, names Sweet Tooth who drives an Ice Cream truck and was one of the last charatcers you face in the first game. The endings are slide shows with good voice action and are rewarding because to every characters wish there is a twist at the end which Calypso usually takes what they wish for literally like the Wishmaster and it ends up working against them. If you don't have this game, you must get it and add it to your collection, end of story!
