Turok Evolution is a worthwhile addition to the Turok legacy. One for the fans and shooter enthusiasts alike.

Turok Evolution puts you in the role of Tal Set, the original Turok. After engaging in a bloody battle with Captain Bruckner, your arch nemesis, you are transported to the Lost Land, where the indigenous population is under attack from a Reptilian force known as The Sleg. As Turok, your mission is basically to kill all the Sleg using ridiculously over powered looking weapons via a guerilla combat style of hunting and killing. There are also some flying missions on the back of a pterodactyl, which provide a nice alternative to the regular on foot shooting or stealth missions. The visuals in this game are decent, capturing a good sense of atmosphere, as you travel through jungles, buildings and Sleg outposts. The music is great and adds to atmosphere with a rythmic drum beat. The sound effects are even better, with those aforementioned ridiculously over powered weapons sounding ridiculously overpowered, and the sounds of birds, dinosaurs and trees swaying in the wind adding to the overall feel. The only general complaint of this game is that it adds nothing new to Turok or other shooters in general, it's just a run and gun shooter. However, it does it well, and Turok Evolution is a worthwhile addition to the Turok legacy. Here's hoping for a sequel.
