This is the first and so far only great game in the franchise!

User Rating: 8.5 | Turok: Dinosaur Hunter N64
This ancient first person shooter released on the Nintendo 64 a while back was one of the most addictive games I've played up until Diablo 2 showed up but now it's just another memory in the back of my head. None the less it was a fond memory for two things: The graphics were immersive for it's time and second but most importantly of all is you kill dinosaurs by the dozens with a hefty arsenal of weapons. The story is sort of simple, Turok the Son of Stone appears out of nowhere without showing why he was summoned in the first place kinda like in Doom or Duke Nukem 3D. You start out with two weapons, a knife, and Turok's signature weapon the Tek Bow and next thing you need is a pistol which is found in a secret area. The first enemy you encounter is a human enemy with a machete, you kill him he gives you a health point instead of that machete. That's what sucks about that part you have a wimpy little knife but you can't take his machete. "The machete would have pretty cool but a pistol is better moving on!" You make your way through the first level you'll encounter all sorts of monsters from the wussy little leapers to the hulkish pur linn and even deadly velociraptors. Yes, that game took me back to the Stone Ages where games were simple and artifical intelligence was more artifical than intelligent. Gameplay: Simplistic in many ways even a 3 year old can play it and the stupid AI was made up for by throwing hordes of mindless dinosaurs at you. Score: 7 out of 10 Graphics: I loved the graphics at that time but I wished the graphics wasen't so foggy! Score: 8 out of 10 Sound: Even when you chuck a grenade at a dead soldier they still scream for some reason. Juggling people with grenades has never been so humorous! Score: 7 out of 10 Value: I liked playing this game because it was "old school." You can't beat "old school!" Score: 10 out of 10 Reviewer's Tilt: Like I said earlier, it's pure "old school" for three things: mindless action, stupid AI and a Learning Curve that lasts only 4 seconds or less. Score: 10 out of 10 Overall Score: 8.5
