I finally received my copy of True Crime and I was not disappointed. It plays just like GTA. You can take cars and vehicles, beat up pedestrians, do just about whatever you want. My only complaint about the game is that so far, there is no blood or anything when you shoot someone or beat them to a pulp. A minor issue, however. I had just as much fun driving around causing chaos in this game as I did in GTA. I highly recommend this game. The cutscenes aren't as cheesy as Gamespot made them out to be. In fact I was rather impressed with it overall. The production values are really great. My first brawl in a restaurant splintered chairs and tables as I delivered punches and spin kicks. I got thrown through a table myself. Just to give you an idea of the hand to hand fighting, which is better than the hand to hand in GTA. I also like how you have two handguns with unlimited ammo for a starter weapon. In GTA I didn't like just starting out with my fists. Does True Crime dethrone GTA? No. I'd still rate the GTA series higher overall but this is definitely a great first outing for Activision. If you only own a Gamecube, you MUST pick this one up. You won't be sorry.
