Budding pirate RTS players don't let this one pass you by.

Its been around for a while this one, but I recently picked it up in a bargain bin, and I must say I was pleasantly surprised. True you can sometimes pick up undiscovered gems in such places but they don't happen all that often, Space Rangers 2 is another one that comes to mind (try it if you haven't already).

This is one of those gems, you are the head of a pirate island and must build up your new kingdom, harvest resources to replenish your fleet so that you might continue to raid the Spanish main. Captivating game play really can keep you occupied for hours the graphics look a little dated as you would expect, but do a more than adequate job. Another plus is that it worked on my Vista x64 system without any tweaking of any sort.

One thing I think they should have done is allow the player more control over the ship to ship side of things, as it stands it allows you to send your ships out but no input on the events that unfold during the voyage, other than that a thoroughly enjoyable game.
