This game is so underrated it's almost a crime.

I bought this game back in 2002 and Im telling you right now that this game nearly destroyed my life. The game is basically crack! No joke! Ok...maybe I'm over doing it a bit with the "destroying my life" part but that's the kind of effect this game had on me. One word: ADDICTIVE!!!! It's so addicitive that until this day....I'm almost afraid to fire it up for fear I won't be able to put it down. For nearly 2 years this was the only game I played. I mean don't get me wrong I played other games as well but nowhere near as much as this game when it first came out. For those who bought this game when it first came out you know what I'm talking about. The online multiplayer, the clans, the community...Oh. My. Gosh. Crack I say. You have to understand that I'm not a PC gamer so I never really new want online multiplayer gaming was about until I fired up this bad boy. WOW!!

I'm about to say something right now that I may get critisized for but oh well..
THIS IS THE BEST MULTIPLAYER ONLINE GAME FOR THE PS2. Calling the single player campaign shallow is an understatement but with online play like this do you really care? The single player IMO is nothing more than a training mode to get you ready for action online. If you're not into online play, then please look elsewhere. If you are....you're in for a treat. Honestly I feel this game was underappreciated for 2 reasons. 1. It came out after Halo and 2. It was released alongside Socom. I really feel that if this game had come out at a different time it would've been a huge hit with gamers. !6 players online with several online modes like Capture the Flag (CTF), Capture and Hold (CNH), Deathmatch (DM) and Hunters (HUN). In CNH work with your team to capture landmarks and defend it from the other team. Hunters is like an "every man for himself CTF". Good fun. All I can say is that Jet packs rule. I can go on and on about this game. But I don't have the time. If you go online yuo'll find dedicated servers which enable a max of 16 players online and occassionally 32. I recommend joining gamerplug.com (formerly known as Tribes AA.com) to get the most out of your online experience because now you'll be plugged into the community. I'm not sure how many people play this game now but I do know that if you find others to play with online you won't be disappointed. Just buy it. Buy it now!!

Oh and one more thing: For those that complain that there isn't at true way to communicate online....the chat system works just fine. As others have noted just type: CHAT-TEST in your buudy list and during play press the square button to bring up recorded orders and communications. It works!
