Transformers: War for Cybertron User Review
- Difficulty:
- Just Right
- Time Spent:
- 10 to 20 Hours
- The Bottom Line:
- "Too short"
It's not a bad game from my point of view. The game play is kind of nice, but after all you are a Transformer...how cool is that? But the game is too short. I finished it in less than 15 hours. And of course the game being too short always results in a "not-that-good of a story". And besides that the missions are just too alike. Both final missions have boss fights when you have to defeat this very big Transformer...somewhere about 10-15 times your size.
Another nice characteristic is that in each mission you can choose from 3 different characters. But in the Decepticon campaign on the last 3 missions you can only choose from the same 3 Decepticons.
There are some sort of classes in the game. Four of the to be exact. You have:soldier, like Ironhide(Autobot) or Brawl(Decepticon), you have scout, like Bumblebee(Autobot) or Barricade(Decepticon), you have scientist, like Soundwave(Decepticon) or Jetfire(Autobot), and of course you have the 2 leaders, Megatron at the Decepticons and Optimus Prime from the Autobots.
You have a diversity of weapons in-game so from that point of view congratulations from me. You can carry at all times 2 guns with you also have your melee weapon. You also have different type of grenades like EMP grenades who stun your enemy(they are robots) or healing grenades which you throw at your allies to heal them.
One last thing I want to discuss about. Each Transformer has 2 abilities. There are 2 types of abilities. Basically one type consumes Energon and you need to recharge this Energon by killing enemies and taking their sparks, while the other ability doesn't consume Energon and you just have to wait for it to come out of cool down which usually takes about 10-30 seconds.
I will end this by saying that if you are a Transformer fan, this game will surely work for you.

Nice game but not too much of a story. Normal considering it has only 10 missions.

High Moon Studios' first Transformers game is the interactive equivalent of a fun, brain-dead summer blockbuster.

Transformers: War for Cybertron has nothing to be hiding from in this shallow but rambunctious ride through Cybertron.

Awesome game, great transformations. Perfect for a G1/Live Action Transformers fan. Even better if you like multiplayer.

Opening sequence to Transformers Tataki for PS2. This is an import game that was never released in the USA. I replaced the audio with the theme song to the original TF Movie from 1986.Posted Jul 13, 2007
