Everyone made such a big deal over WFC that I had really high expectations of it but when I played it, sure I enjoyed it but was expecting so much more!!! FOC looks very promising though and I don't care about the review, I'm still going to rent this out :)
I would love to play as soundwave in a realistic setting, but I think would rather download that to revenge of the fallen from the PS store for $9.99 than buy a whole new game for $40.00
@mykeday From what I've been reading War Cybertron 2(Which is actually named the Fall of Cybertron for research purposes.) Isn't going to be just something to please Transformers fans. It's looking to be something to turn heads. Obviously this is just my opinion and can't be for sure until it's release. But do look out for the game, I think we are going to be more than pleased. This game was just being held back by being attached to the movie as it is. Transformers is a platform for a great game long time fan or not.
Unfortunatly the general rule of thumb is all games based on movies suck. Because they are rushed out to coincide with the release of the movie, leaving them very limited and buggy. Lets hope WFC 2 gives us the game we all want, as i found the first i felt when it was good was very good, but when bad it was quite bad. There was no real advantage to transform. At least ROTF despite all it's flaws had a good purposeful tranforming mechanism.
if someone does a tranformers game not based on a movie than maybe we will get somewhere
Do these devs even notice how terrible the graphics are? This looks visually awful. Then you look at the gameplay. Why did they even make this?
WHY WHY cant the game devs just sit down, take a deep breath and make a good game ...why does it always end up like this ....all for a quick buck
Why is everyone referring to these games's "super awesome" license? The transformers movies are barely better than these games!
Why don't they just stop making games that don't measure up to movies. Games to movies yea ala HITMAN, movies to games BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
I wanted to play a Transformer game with the moving coming out, but this one BLOWS. Grab Transformers: War for Cybertron. Amazing game, great story, and the multiplexer is like transformers + unreal tournament. AMAZING. Plus its older now, so you can grab it for $10- $20 usually.
An excellent review that only showcased all the reasons why I won't be buying this game. Can someone please actually make a film based game one day that doesn't suck?
I'm not surprised that this game is bad. I'm surprised that this game gets a video review.
Everybody knows deep down that HMS did not have a lot of creative freedom to develop this game due to it being based on the DoTM movie. Activision probably said something to this effect. You will make our movie game just like WFC! As evident in the video that is exactly what happened. Listen fellow gamers after having played every Transformers game ever created except for DoTM I still feel that WFC is the best Transformers game to date hands down. Now with that out of the way; on to something that Transformers generation 1 lovers should enjoy. I think HMS should really make a Robotech game. The WFC mechanics are ALMOST perfect for Robotech. I know some tweaks would need to be implemented, but I feel they could pull it off. They could even follow the WFC formula. I think it would be awesome to play as the EDF, Zentraedi, Masters/clones and Invid over the entirety of the Robotech story arc. I would even be pleased with any of the several stories with in the Robotech universe. And if they did make such a game I would have to ask them to put in a manual customization option for button and analog stick configuration. All to often potentially great games are mediocre due to poor or limited control configuration options. Never stop gaming friends!
The idea is there, now we just need some 1 that can grasp the essence of it all; and Transform it ;)

Another Transformers game that's half-good, and half-disappointing. Can't this franchise be ever wholly satisfying?
"Hopefully one day we'll get something that captures the magic of the license". Erm....War For Cybertron? Hello? Although actually....this looks like a reskin of that game, the emblems and text and HUD elements, as well as the transformations and combat look identical. I get the impression the reviewer hasn't played WfC. If she had I think she'd be drawing comparisons left and right.
