If you love the ride at the Disney parks then you will love the game. If you aren't familiar with the ride don't bother

Familiarity with the Toy Story Mania ride at Disneyland or Walt Disney World is a prerequisite for not being completely disappointed with this game. While some have expressed disappointment with the graphics quality, the graphics are spot on to those on the ride. Although the exact mini games from the ride are not in the game, all of them make an appearance in slightly altered form. Most of the twenty or so mini games are shooting of some sort, just like the ride, but the ones that are not I found enjoyable as well. The game is not difficult and my five year old son can play all of the games very well and has a blast. Although some of the objectives given during some of the mini games are challenging they do not require completion to move on through the game. Overall my family has really enjoyed this game, but we love the ride at Disneyland. Now I have to address some of the negative aspects of the game. The 3D levels are completely worthless. They utilize the 1950's 3D technology and the effect is non-existent. There is no story in the story mode. It is simply a way not to have all of the levels open from the beginning of the game. During the story mode you can't save after each mini game, but only after you have completed a carousel (five or six mini games). Also after you unlock all the mini games you can build your own carousel of games to play through which is nice, but for some unknown reason you can't save that carousel. The menu system is also a bit cumbersome and takes a little bit of patience to figure out. For example it is not immediately clear how you build your own carousel of games, but after 5 to 10 min of "hitting buttons" you figure it out. The game has a targeting sight to assist you with aiming. I would recommend you turn it off in the options menu. You do not want to become dependent on it, since in many instances it disappears briefly during game play. There is no targeting aide on the ride and a constant stream of eggs, darts, balls etc will show you where you are aiming. Finally, do not expect to see the toy story characters often, like the ride they introduce a minigame and are there at the conclusion and that is it. The voice talent is good with all of the actors lending their voices except Tom Hanks and Tim Allen (The Tim Allen impersonator is very good, Tom Hanks impersonator not so much).
I recommend this game if you love the ride, otherwise skip it. There are better mini game compilations.
