NEWS
November 6, 2006
Don't let the title fool you though--it's good news.
As many of you know, we haven't filled all 64 player slots in Fatal Face-Off. It's not a bad thing, though, since we can move all of you on to the next round. So congratulations! If you are participating, you've already clinched a spot in Wednesday's matches.
However, in the Kikkoff round, we will still be holding the matches for players with opponents. Your match will determine whether or not you earn a bye in the next round: the winner earns a bye in the next round and will automatically progress; the loser will move on, but must fight in the next round to determine whether he moves on. If you do not have an opponent in the kikkoff round, you will have an opponent in the next round.
Again, please note that in terms of your schedule, you STILL must check into My Headquarters if you have signed up for a slot, and play your match as long as you have an opponent. If you do NOT check in to My Headquarters and tournament chat, and/or do not play your scheduled match, you WILL be considered a no-show and disqualified.
The end result is that all of you should sign in and play all matches as scheduled--it's just that the stakes are a little different regarding the next round, in the interestes of compressing the format to better fit the 27 folks that signed up.
If you have any questions regarding this change, please email me directly at kevinv@gamespot.com.
