The Tournament Finals begins June 20, 2008 at 4:00 PM PT (the "Tournament Period").
4. Finals Round Tournament Rules: The Finals will be held in a live broadcast on GameSpot’s Tournament TV. The Finals match will include three game rounds as follows:
Game Round 1
Round 1 will consist of having all four participants dress up in their own costume and put on a "stage show" using their rocker persona. At the end of each song, a player's stage performance will be rated by the Gamespot Tournament TV hosts as well as guest hosts (three judges total).
Each judge will rate a player’s performance based on a point scale from 1-10, 10 being the highest score a player can achieve by a judge. Judge ratings will directly contribute to a player’s final score on the song which they have just completed by each point counting for 10,000 points. Thus, by achieving a rating of 10 out of 10 a player will receive a bonus of 100,000 points per judge. Therefore, if a player has achieved a score of 200,000 on the song they have just completed and a cumulative rating of 10 from the three hosts, then 300,000 points are added to their final song score resulting in a score of 500,000 points. An Aerosmith song will be chosen by the judges. The top 3 players from this round will move on to the next game round.
Game Round 2
Round 2 will consist of 3 players. Each player will play a song that will be announced on the broadcast. During the song, participants will answer a set of basic trivia questions about the Guitar Hero series and artists for a bonus. Bonus points will be calculated as 10% of the final score for the song, multiplied by the number of correct answers. If a player scores 100000 points and answers 5 questions correctly, they will receive a bonus of 50000 points, for a total of 150000 points.
Game Round 3
Round 3 will consist of 2 players. The players will face off in a one time skill against skill contest, attempting to achieve the highest score at "Walk This Way" by Aerosmith and Run DMC. The winner will be the player with the highest score at the end of the song. Winner take all.
