Medieval 3 : total war will be better for me. By the way , why did they changed The naming system . it should have been Rome 2 : Total war as with previous series :
1- Shogun : Total war
2- Rome : Total war
3- Medieval : Total war
4- Medieval 2 : Total war
5- Empire : Total war
6- Naplon : Total war
7- Shogun 2 : Total war
8- Total War : Rome 2 ????????????????????????

How far will I go for Rome? Probably not far enough to buy this game.
While I absolutely loved Shogun 2, I simply do not have any interest in the Roman Empire.
I know the majority of the Total War fanbase was asking (read: demanding) for Rome 2, I just personally would have liked to see something new and interesting.
I will ask my generals : Tell me again, Maximus, why are we here?
To where they will Reply :For the glory of the Empire, sire.
Five thousand of my men are out there in the freezing mud. Three thousand of them are bloodied and cleaved. Two thousand will never leave this place. I will not believe that they fought and died for nothing.
Marcus Aurelius: And what would you believe?
Maximus: They fought for you and for Rome.
Marcus Aurelius: And what is Rome, Maximus?
Maximus: I've seen much of the rest of the world. It is brutal and cruel and dark, Rome is the light.
Marcus Aurelius: Yet you have never been there. You have not seen what it has become. I am dying, Maximus. When a man sees his end... he wants to know there was some purpose to his life. How will the world speak my name in years to come? Will I be known as the philosopher? The warrior? The tyrant? Or will I be the emperor who gave Rome back her true self? There was once a dream that was Rome. You could only whisper it. Anything more than a whisper and it would vanish... it was so fragile. And I fear that it will not survive the winter. Maximus, let us whisper now, together you and I. You have a son?
@xanal_juicex Nice! They should hire you to write for them, or better yet, you should write your own book.
@moc5 A book would be plagiarism, lol.
He's only quoting from The Gladiator. In this post and at least one other.
Hell, judging by all the posts here made by this user, he comes across as delusional.
@pitosga Yes! Yes he is. Delusional and somewhat carries the symptoms of someone who had just endured brain surgery by Charles Manson and survived.
If only have women born into my kingdom I will make the following statement
"If only you had been born a man, what a Caesar you would have made"
Enough of politics. Let us pretend that you are a loving daughter, and I am a good father.
"How Far Will I Go For Rome" I will Grant An Old Custom!
?Grant them prima noctes. First night, when any common girl inhabiting their lands is married, our nobles shall have sexual rights to her on the night of her wedding.?
I will Lead With My Sword! If the Royal Jester will Be executed if is NOT Funny!
I will Salvage The Lands And Burn Their Crop's And Villages!
Not sure if I am the only one here, but I have the blood pack for Shogun 2 and I really love it even if it is a little over-the-top. Even so, I hope they have an option for gore or blood in Rome 2 in some way it would be good.
@eddieham13 Enough of politics. Let us pretend that you are a loving daughter, and I am a good father.
For all those asking I think the trailer is suppose to imply there will be more treachery in Diplomacy. As in in different ways to assasinate Family members and more in house treachery. Thats what I read from it anyhow. Still though pretty excited for this, I still play Rome, hopefully this will be a true sequel.
I expect they will fix the baby-sitting-the-settlement bug. It was so annoying. Also make the AI more creative in their formations. Barbarians always do the same tactics.
@The_Game_Jr "baby-sitting-the-settlement bug" What was that? And yeah the Barbarians always did have the same predictable front-line.
Yeah what we need is more killing and more blood in our games. Sheesuz, give it a rest already.
@birkettboy26 ?Grant them prima noctes. First night, when any common girl inhabiting their lands is married, our nobles shall have sexual rights to her on the night of her wedding.?
@birkettboy26 We all know those soft Corinthians know not the taste of conquest.
Total War Rome II should be great as all other Total War games and Rome in all of its glory with great video and music. How Wonderful!
How far will Creative Assembly go for Rome? Let's hope far enough, and then some.
Please oh sweet in this era not yet born baby jesus do not let this game fail! Rome: Total War is and always will be one of my most FAVORITE games. If this ruins RTW I will never buy another CA game again. And I'll force my kids to never buy one again, and when I am dictator I will outlaw all CA games, and when I control Rome I'll command all to never buy this game! So don't screw this up CA!
@mo654 well the total war games have always been about diplomacy and using agents to help crush opponents just as much as building armies and fighting i think the trailer might have to do with that maybe thier expanding the role of agents with this new game??
@flamesofexuro My thoughts exactly. Only other person on here who seems to have seen that,
I hope they bring back the variety in unit types. In the original Rome: total war the range of unit types made playing as different factions interesting and fun to do because of the different play styles associated with them. Whereas especially in shogun 2 and partly empire/napoleon each faction had basically the same units making playing as different factions a bit dull.
K, made no sense in terms of the genre. Whats with all the Live action trailers at the moment?
another thing , the developers released that they intend to make the fighting more realistic so when a soldier dies or gets hit next to u his dieing gasps or calls for help will provoke feeling into the players ..that combined with individualist facial expressions and blood r supposed to totally suck the player into the Roman world well thats a tall order to fill . As much as i love the series i have always felt disconnected from the dieing soldiers . It always turns into did i win or not and i move on to the next battle ...if they put in 100s of dieing different animations and a wall of the names who died under yr command then just maybe i feel connected to the soldiers . but animations that roll around on the ground without names or families have no meaning at all as far as connecting to the soldiers on the battlefield . I really really hope they deliver what there boasting about ...ill still love the game but it would be nice to feel that connection with the soldiers
@Gat311 THIS. maybe its too much but they could make some soldiers who start supporting their almost dead comrades, recieving some cherrished object or last words to be given to family, or maybe some old veterans stay with the dying even when you move out the unit?
Ive been waiting for Rome 2 for a very long time and i for one am very glad there making it ..I own all the total wars and still play most of them ....I to am hoping for a world war game but the 2 world war ...hope they make that one after Rome 2 ....Im 40 years old this year and a die hard fan of this series...I hope they have the ninja type movies of the crucifixion this time along with all the assassin clips .I absolutely love fighting for the emperor and to advance the empire..death to those who challenge imperial Rome .
If they don't re-insert the ability to have different tax levels in different places, population, city levels and the ability to build several buildings in one city allowing for micromanagement I will have to say that Total War is dead, Shogun 2 sucked with it's casual filth, allowing for about three buildings per city, and the removal of all prestige.
Even if they don't get that stuff right, I at least hope it's optimized, I can't even play shogun 2 without severely underclocking and turning down the settings, I get about 300 FPS which makes the card overheat.
God I can't wait to see my hastati throw their pila at the hordes of celts and other filth, demoralizing them before they collide with the combined shield-wall that is the roman empire's finest.
JULII 4 LYFE!
ARCANI REPRESENT!
this video tells me nothing about the game. should have put some gameplay footage in there somewhere.
@cwaustin It tells you nothing? It tells me loads of things. There will definately be loyalty involved. Double crossing, corruption, assassinations. How far will you go to maintain the illusion of the beauty and glory of Rome? I find that very revealing and interesting. There will probably be more drama this time around.
@GenomeSoldierDK Exactly. It tells me the Diplomatic side is going to have a much bigger role, than the last game.
I've had little interest in Empire, Napoleon, or Shogun 2, but I'll be counting the days for this one. Hopefully they'll give us several expansions to cover more than just the wars of the Roman republic.
